The Obvious Difference
Following the public release of the Mitsubishi Evo x, Tomei Powered quickly acquired and disassembled the newest 4B11 powerplant to begin their research. Tomei's first step toward research proved crucial for the development of their own 4B11 products as it involved familiarizing and discovering the basic characteristics of Mitsubishi's new engine design. Another aspect of this research included a side-by-side comparison with its predecessor, the 4G63.

So if you are upgrading an older fwd CK, IMHO a 4G63T or 4B11T is the last thing that you should install...
unless you have VERY deep pockets... and upgrade these FIRST... fwd-to-4wd (NOT recommended), suspension, BRAKES, wheels, etc.

IMHO these days it's cheaper & easier to sell your CK and buy an E6 (hard to find a 'clean' one), E7 or E8.
If you go this route... check for RUST!!!
