As yvan said, parts not hard to find, and imo prices of parts are pretty reasonable too. As for the price, most people have a stigma against sharkmouths because of the whole "GDI is pressure" issue. But once u get one that's been properly maintained and you upkeep your maintenance, you should be good. GDI is actually fantastic once you have a mechanic that's knowledgeable enough to advise you properly.

Although if you fraid the GDI thing too much, try looking around for one of the NON-GDI models. Those usually have a single cam 4g63 engine, I could be wrong but I think it's mostly the Super Saloon models have these. IMO these are the best models, runs great and only ever had one issue with it in as much as 4 years.

Fellas, anyone could help me find this part?? Not sure what part it is exactly cuz I wasn't there when the mechanic took it out....I didn't even get to tlk to him......all ik it's a part that bolts on to the block with 2 water lines, an in and an out. The connection for the hose dry rotted so I need to get a new one. The engine is a 4g63 fuel injected. Checked everywhere in the bamboo and no luck....any ideas??

Hey anyone know the voltage that's supposed to be read from the tps at idle? Mechanic adjusted it, but its been adjusted too much. So wanna give him the correct voltage to use.

U can upgrade to a GSR 4G93T, VR4 6A13TT or the EVO4-9 engine and stay FWD immediately...they will all bolt to your current tranny but the 6A13TT V6 is the easiest swap can be done in a day. As all you need to do is take out GDI and drop in the V6 an plug in the engine harness. The other engines you will need to hire a electrician to figure out the harnessing.

You can enjoy all of these setups as is an save up cash for the proper AWD conversion later if u want.

Never knew the V6 swap was so straightforward.

So xtech, the stock tranny does be able to handle the power? My urge to convert coming back. Thought I'd hadda throw out real money and convert to AWD and cut axles and all kinda thing.

Yes stock tranny handles the load.... There is no internal difference besides the VR4 tranny having a 5th gear. Externally it's 2WD an has a slightly smaller torque converter. Also the transmission oil cooling capacity needs to be upgraded.

Almost forgot. Upgrade your brakes if u wanna live long.

I will recommend you get the bigger VR4 calipers and rotors on the complete spindles front and rear will bolt up even if u stay FWD.

from the fuel gauge, its pretty much steady once the engine is cold for short runs, from the time the temp goes up the fuel gauge plummets..im thinking o2 sensor, its pbby in loop at first n when it heats ecu reads from the sensor..altering the mixture?

Xtech if you upgrade to the vr4 spindles you'd be upgrading to a 5 hole set up as well right?. My galant is 4 hole.

U tried using gates belts?? I find these hold up very well, never had issues with them. I usually buy my gates belts by Automotive Supplies(think that's the name) on Charles Street in POS

I've heard decent reviews about Bando too....... The issue could be the places u buying from, I've come across places where the belts like it used to stay too long and dry rot before selling, so within a month of putting on a "new" belt, it shred out

That could be possible because Bando is supposed to be a good brand. I've always had good results with them.
