Noisy tappets are a signature issue on most 4g engines. Usually there is a upgraded tappet which reduces this noise. However try changing the type of oil you're using first. Try a multi grade oil rather than synthetic.
make sure oil is under the upper mark on the dipstick. try using some cleaner to clean system(power foam). switch to helix blue bottle. That's what I do. might be different in your car.
