I have to push my key in hard to start....need help

Postby chosen1 » December 18th, 2014, 7:31 am

hey guys,

i am having a new issue with my cs2a. i find that i now have to push my key in hard and turn several times to get the car started. Sometimes in P sometime in N. I thought it was the starter, but i can hear the started energizing so i know its not the starter. battery is good, alt is good.

car gives no trouble once it starts, its just that its difficult to start. this happens whether its hot or cold, morning or night.

I am thinking perhaps the ignition switch is faulty???

what do you guys think and has anyone experienced this?

Engine Starting Switch or what we call the Ignition Switch. The brushes inside it gets faulty. Check the bamboo. A foreign used one will cost you about $350- $400.

An electrician changed mine. I didn't have it checked beforehand because I was absolutely sure it was the ignition switch. Process of elimination based on the fact that everything else pointed towards the ignition. Battery, alternator, starter, gear selector switch was all good.
Check the CS Lancer thread. I can't quite remember but someone in there had shipped one in.
