If you use the WRX (twin pipe outlet) barrel it sounds low and quiet, you hear the boxer rumble. I am telling you from experience I have a WRX and TS. When I upgraded the WRX exhaust I used the barrel on the TS and it gives a deeper rumble, not loud, its a distinctive Subaru rumble.

If you put UEL headers on a newer car with EL headers, you may lose performance. UEL was not a very efficient setup and is the added 'benefit' of that old grumble worth it?

The EL headers with a good straight exhaust on a turbo car sounds good, on a non-turbo it's just noisy and not the good kind of noise.

If you want the car to sound sporty, induction noises sound really good on these cars and won't sound ricey. Get a decent intake system installed and you'll like it without being too overdone.

I have installed OEM STi axlebacks and even entire STi catbacks on at least 5 different TS Subaru's...all Japan model...and they sound really really good...nice and simple with a little grumble

not only that but it looks good with STi embossed in the tip lol
