Anyone know what these are, from the Mazda 3 1.6L engine? Both parts are entirely hollow.

I had some mechanical work done (changed tappet cover gasket), and after I got the car back I saw them on the stone shield when I removed it to change my oil.

Zerex meets the mazda coolant requirements.
Those two hollow pieces of metal look like bolt guides. The enginve plastic cover usually has those in the holes for the bolts to go through. Im not 100% certain on the mazda 3 tho

Thanks cinco. I went back to the shop that did the work and asked about it - I just wanted some possible suggestions to make sure they weren't trying to BS me.

They said the oblong aluminum one was a crimp, which they think was being used on a fleet vehicle they were working on alongside my car at the time, and it may have somehow fell into my engine bay. That's the only thing they said they could think of that could explain its presence on my stone shield.

The cylindrical metal one they said looked like a bolt guide like you mentioned, but they could not say exactly where it might have come from. They suggested that maybe it came from one of the bolts holding down the airbox or engine cover when they were removing those items. I have to take a check weekend and see if I can find where it could have come from.

They assured me that they did nothing with the internals of my engine, and that it shouldn't be anything to be too worried about.

snight01 where did you find the OEM Mazda coolant?

Hey guys,
I have a 2006 RORO, and I've found it moves kind of sluggish at times. When it picks up speed and gets over 80 it's fine, but getting there is a problem. There's a jump when it moves between first and second gear. I changes transmission oil and had tune up end of last year, don't think that's the cause.
Saw online people said it may be an electrical problem tied to the brain of the car.
Anyone have similar problems? And know any electrical mechanics who familiar with Mazda problems? thx....

I can say with certainty that my My Mazda 3 which is a local VVT, 2.0l runs on Super well and the same can apply to others as well as I know of a few non-VVT, 2.0l F.U. Mazda 3s running Super with no issues as well. I also have 2 coworkers with 1.5l and they are also using Super with no issues for some time now as well. Don't know if there us a difference in the local 1.6l though.

You don't need a camber kit. The vehicle is designed with a negative rear camber.

Ok, I'm not bashing here, so don't freak out.

1. As mentioned, these arms are totally unnecessary...UNLESS you plan to lower your car 3-5 inches via coilovers. Excessive negative camber would need to be corrected in this case.

2. These particular camber arms are bogus and unreliable. I was trying to find a post I saw for reference but can't locate it right now. These things can break and I've seen a pic from Shavi at Royal Origin USA where the bushing got ejected.

3. Honestly, if you paid $90USD for these, you overpaid. The best kit on the market, bar none, is the Eibach/SPC kit and that costs $220USD-$270USD depending on where you purchase. That's still not $2000TTD bro.

Like I said, I not looking for no heat over this. Do your thing, but when it comes to suspension, if you have to spend that kind of cash, you might as well get something proven and proper. You truly get what you pay for.
