PDX5 is an excellent choice, small and powerful. The signal from the headunit isn't the greatest, that's why i added the two processors but a decent aftermarket head unit should do the trick, are you going to use a single or double din?

It's a decent deck for use with ipod; i would have gone with something bluetooth, just to eliminate the use of a headset.

What brand dash kit you got?

Trying to decide between the Metra or Scosche

Anyone have experience with them or another brand?

Thanks

Metra is better in terms of quality, i've used both in the past. The scosche had fitment issues.

Where you guys get the big cradle bushing for the mazda 3? Or do I have to buy the complete arm? Where do you guys get yours?

OEM it isn't sold separately. There are a couple aftermarket options though. Discussed earlier here:

Hi guys, Just a quick question. On a local 2007 Mazda 3 that my girlfriend owns, the immobilizer light {little red light with a key} is constantly flashing when the key is out of car, even when the car is locked, etc. Is this normal? Or is something wrong there?

That's normal. It should only stop when the key is switched to "ON" or the engine is started.

Hey Guys,
New to forum, i've just finished reading all 27! pages of this thread lol.

Started reading because im looking to purchase a mazda, wanted the speed3.
Currently in the cayman islands, and these kind of cars are easy to get / cheap.
When i saw trini prices on the Mazda 3 / 6 i almost shot myself.
Got a Mazda Speed 6 2.3L Turbo Bran New imported by dealer here for 35k US with 3 years warranty. What the hell is going on in trinidad!?

That being said. Im moving back to TT for a while.
What's the verdict on the speed3, will i be able to get it? what cost? etc.
And whats the better purchase between the local 3 1.6l and 6 2.0l , performance etc.
Quoted prices from local dealer = $195 & $211 MZ3, $290 MZ6

After handling the Speed 6 for a while, it will really suck going to local 3/6.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

Are you looking to purchase the Speed 3 where you are and bring it in as a returning resident, or did you mean purchase one in Trinidad after you move back to T&T? If you can, definitely go for the former - it will cost an arm and a leg to bring it in once you're a resident here.

Being very familiar with and having driven a Speed 3 on more than a few occasions over the years when I vacation outside of T&T, and owning a 1.6L Mazda 3 sedan here in T&T, saying that it will suck going from a Speed 6 to a local 3/6 is an understatement. About the only thing that saves the local 3 compared to the Speed model is that it handles pretty well, especially with decent tyres. Otherwise you'll feel like you're standing still when you mash the gas

As a local resident, you can bring the Speed 3 in on your own RORO, but the cost is still high given the taxes on the relatively large engine size (2.3L). As a returning resident bringing in a car, you'll be exempt from these charges. I can't see the local dealer (Southern Sales) bringing it in, as it won't be worth their trouble to honor the warranty for a one off order.

I was referring to purchasing when back, but your advise is good.
Purchase where i am and bring it back with me. So ill look into that option.
Thanks alot!

Any idea on the procedures involved if i am infact bringing it in as a returning resident?

I got a set of the powerflex big bushings, i'm looking to replace them but the bushings say the stock ones are fluid filled, can anyone confirm?
Also, I need to change the ball joints but the ones from the parts places are a couple mm smaller than the joint that I have and jus slides straight through the hole, where can I get a quality ball joint?

I'm interested in assembling the parts, not buying the cradles whole.

Need Rear wheel Hub assembly which includes bearings and ABS sensor for both left and right side. Called SS and was told $1645. each

Anyone know of an alternative source?

Gonna make some calls as well, Jurawan's say $619. but I wanna take a look at the assembly before I get excited cuz I suspect it isn't complete.
