The BT-50 [TF/2021+] Thread. [Isuzoomzoom]

Postby VexXx Dogg » October 13th, 2022, 10:45 am

Edit: Making this the Mazda BT50/ master thread - specific for the 2021+ platform shared with the Isuzu.

This vehicle is fairly new, so I suppose most owners will be looking for a resource repository.

Update:
Factory manual suggests 15K oil change intervals, but SSL is advocating a much more aggressive change schedule (5K first service and then 7.5k after). I agree with their approach to extending longevity.

AIte, I'll start it.

My journey started yesterday.
Took delivery of a 2022 TF, 3.0 4X4 in True Mica Black.

Initial thoughts:
Interior is insanely well appointed, the chocolate brown leather interior and trim feels like a premium SUV more than a workhorse - which it really is - as under the skin is the rock solid isuzu. BT/Apple Car play was easy to setup, still trying to figure out the wireless car play. Tech is nice. Coming over from a Vezel, I was kinda spoiled with the suite of safety tech and this is even better.

Audio is ok, nothing special like the cars with premium brands fitted at factory. Good enough for me for now. The 9" headunit has everything I need so it's likely staying put.

Paint looks nice in the sun, but the overall finish is 8/10. Could probably do with a finisher buff to remove some minor imperfections in the clear coat. Comes with bedliner which is well fitted, so I suppose it's like that from Thailand.

It's a cruiser, and I have no intentions of testing WOT on highway, but it seems like the 3.0 has enough grunt to get that kinda job done easily.

Hate the cheap generic mats that came with it from SSL. Also I dislike that the phone cubby and armrest storage didn't come with any carpet or nonskid mats. Stuff will rattle around there, but that's a minor DIY hack.

I'm keeping this one simple. No lift, no mods other than some nice wheels to match my aesthetic with decent all terrains.

Wishlist:
Good quality rolling tray cover (looking at Roll n lock or Retrax)
Easy lift/tailgate assist.
Laser cut mats or better quality OEM fit mats.
