Hi all,

I'd appreciate some feedback from the fellow Ranger-folk here:-

I have to change the tyres on my '08 Ranger XLT.... but, I want to go up in size and I want some A/T's. The original tyres are 245/70/16 and I want to go up to 265/70/16. I've been told that they work without problem on my series from one or two peeps I've talked to and also from a couple tyre shops. However, I've read here (somewhere) that this size would touch. One tyre shop said this as well, but also that it would touch in the front wheel well and only because of the type of rims I have - they're the original ones. Can anyone shed more light on this?

Oh... BTW, I'm looking at Dunlop GrandTrek A/T3's.

Peace....

Good morning. You probably bought the 265/70s. Yes they do touch a little but the ride and cornering is tremendously improved.

265 do touch in the front so your better off using the 255. BF GOODRICH A/T( currently using with stock rims on 255/70/R16)

Thanks all... at the time of the posting there was a lot of info and opinions, but really could not get a definite answer, I ended up going with the 265's on my stock rims and cranked my torsion bar... raised the ride about an inch. No touching now. I really think touching/rubbing also depends on the try of tyre treading. BTW, those tyres perform very admirably on the wet....
