Door Mirror Recall

Postby Big Z » November 24th, 2010, 10:51 am

Door Mirror Recall. Click here for press release.

A bit late... but better than never.

Given that myself and a few people I know had this issue, its good to keep this in mind for your next service at the Suzuki dealer.

yes i had to screw back in my sx4 mirror before so that is a good find you have there.it actually is fairly easy to re-tighten the screws.bad thing is that i just put some chrome shields on my wing mirror so i hope its not the entire mirror that they have to replace

here it is in Canada too

SUBJECT: SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN: SK, GLASS IN THE OUTSIDE MIRRORS BECOMING LOOSE.

MODEL(S): SX-4 (RW420)

YEAR: 2007~2010
AFFECTED VEHICLES:
2007 JS2YB413575112258 ONLY
2008~2009 ALL
2010 CERTAIN MODELS

IN ALL CASES PLEASE CHECK VEHICLE HISTORY ON
SUZUKICONNECT.COM TO CONFIRM THAT VEHICLE IS INCLUDED IN
RECALL CAMPAIGN AND THE CAMPAIGN SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN
PERFORMED

CONDITION: The head portion of the outside mirror(s) may work loose while driving or when opening and closing the front door(s).

CAUSE: Due to the absence of a pre-coated adhesive, known as thread lock on the three (3) mounting screws on the outside rear view mirror base, the screws may loosen and cause vibration of the mirror itself resulting in decreased visibility performance and increasing the risk of a crash.

CORRECTION: DO NOT replace the Mirror assembly! Please remove the three screws that attach the head portion of each mirror, and replace them with the countermeasure parts.

The replacement parts are just different screws with threadlock already on them.

This has happened to my both my side mirrors AND my rear view. Lifestyle changed the whole rear view but just re tightened the wing mirrors. That was 6 months ago and luckily it hasn't started to shake yet..
