thoughts on my Suzuki Liana HID Projector Retrofit NEW PICS

Postby arran193 » February 15th, 2011, 9:59 pm

i just wanted to get people's thoughts on my headlight project. This is my second Retrofit my first was with a Baleno. i used the Morimoto Mini bixenon HID projectors, which is a popular choice for retrofits because its easy to install, small and works great. anyone who is thinking about HID should do the full retrofit not just use an HID kit, the lighting is much better and you dont blind anyone. one of the main reasons why i chose this projector too is because it comes in RHD version so the cutoff stepup is on the correct side not to blind oncoming traffic.
i got alot of ideas from http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/

The difference with RHD and LHD projectors

The light output is amazing and noone has flashed me yet as if i was blinding them.

i will add more pics of the output and day pictures of the project tomorrow.

please comment and let me know how you find it came out.

If people are interested i can source the projectors for them.

Thanks guys, yea it make the car look a lot better. The black make it look better too I wasn't sure if to leave it chrome or black but the black look much better.
I not sure if it legal down here I believe it is in the US. I know its more legal than those guys with just hid kits in there carm. I passed through a couple roadblocks with no problem soo that's good.
As for the price the projectors are about $900 tt and then the bulbs and ballast is about $500. I actually have 2 pairs of the projectors coming down and the bulbs ect. If u interested I could give a kit to you at a bess price.

Hey arran, can you post a pic of your lights against a wall so we can compare it to the www.theretrofitsource.com RHD pic?

I forgot to put some pics of high beam i will get some later and put it up.

whizpig the pics i have up from the retrofit source for comparison between LHD and RHD is of a different projector i think the FX-R bixenon projector which i used in my first retrofit. that was the first pics that google gave me its just so you see the difference between LHD and RHD.

Can you explain the process of opening up the lights? How long do they have to stay in the oven and at what temperature?

I want to paint the inside of my headlight so was looking to do that myself. Any problems with the headlight leaking?

Pete there is plenty tutorials on youtube on how to bake them. the exact temp and heat i cannot remember, dont put it hot and dont leave it for too long. just leave it in for a like 2 mins and see if it got soft enough to open if not put it back in.
if you have a heat gun it would be easier.

i have not got any problem with leaking.

i used silicone after just to make sure it doesnt leak but it should be good with the original sealant it has. you have to put it back in the oven to heat it to put it back together

There is differnt ways but this projector is easy to mount. You just have to push it through the opening for the bulb and screw it in on the other side with a washer and bolt that comes with it.

I will put picks of high beam tonight.

Yea the projector does both, when you put on high beam the shield inside the projector gets pulled down so there is no cutoff and its just full light output.
