the firm just raised their prices from $563. to $908. for the original pads. i bought OHK pads for $125. and they are holding just as good as the original until i get the original pads imported for much less.

check your fluid to see if they really changed it out.it is "alleged" that they top up and wash the cylinder so it looks like they did.

They changed my brake pads for free at around 45,000km. (got the car with the free service etc for 3 years and they changed that at my last service) Now I've done another 60,000km and I think I need to change them again. Rotors I think are a little warped and have some grooves so I think I gonna try to get them machined as well. Will sort out that at the start of 2012 but if someone could suggest another brand of pads I would appreciate it.

labour for disc pad change at edinburh auto supplies is $29

question......is it necessary to flush break line when pads are changed?

discolored fluid is the usual indicator, though not all grades fluid change color at the same rate.
50,000km is the max interval i've used so far.

Discolouration does not show up the water content in brake fluid. Ergo, change annually.
50k is too long... I changed the corolla (new from the firm) at the 3 yr mark (~40k km) and the improvement in pedal feel was significant.
