Dropping/Lowering my suzuki swift

Hey can any of you guys give me some advice (pros/cons) about cutting my springs to lower my car. its ah suzuki swift 2009 model

Here’s some advice....don’t do it....ur gonna fack up the suspension geometry, even if you don’t feel it at first. Spend ur money and buy a set of lowering springs from ultra racing et al.

lol...call Amir hosein " Ignis" on the forum...he can hook you up with the "Ultra brand" or "Tein" lowering springs...316 7313....i have been using the Tein lowering springs with original SSS shocks for the last 3yrs with no probs

Oh yeah, Devi sorry about that...I forgot TEIN has an application for the swift, I think Megan Racing may as well...TSC on this site is the local distributor for Megan.

I don't think you can cut the springs, especially the rear. The way they're made its smaller at the top and bottom to fit into the mounting points anyway. Best bet really is a proper set of lowering springs.

BTW, do you really want it lower? My car at stock height the front touches all over the place. Fraid to lower the car yes. I dunno how Devi does it.

I suspect the Teins have uprated spring rates and provide a little more control over strut movement. Maybe Devi could chime in, since with the turbo kit that adds some weight to the front as well.

LOL, Thats true. My front bumper is always coming out because i seem to bang it going and coming out of little inclines. My concern is more to the back. I want the back to be a little lower.

crab crawl your way out! sometimes you cant help but touch though depending on the incline.if you know you go places regualrly where you presently touch try to avoid lowering.

Original swift sport shocks and springs (used)

The car is SOOOO different now. Feels much better on the road, especially the highway. Definitely more stable at high speed and around corners it feels great. Wish I had gotten this since last year!

yup...thats why i used the Tein SSS lowering springs with original SSS shocks...the 1.5 is lighter than the sport so the height drop would be less...my car is really not that low

just a little heads up ...

ss 1.6 tein springs are -35mm front and -30mm rear drop
swift 1.5 tein springs are -25mm front and -30mm rear drop

devi's car is using the sss teins ..and thats why his car is lower that is should be.

geez...you just confused the crap outta everybody....tigz i really think my car is at a good height, i dont have any issues scraping on humps etc...u can view pics of the car on trinituner at dex and D&W events..its the black with yellow rims....most important it handles really well!

1.5 weight = less drop ... but less shock travel on stiffer spring rate = better handling

Yes but don’t forget to add back the weight of the snail, piping and FMIC...prolly comes back very close to the weight of the 1.6.
