The fried egg effect is created by the orange bulbs in the clear lenses of both the headlight and tail light. This can be eliminated by getting chrome bulbs that actually light amber.

Nah think I'll stick with the fried egg for now. Only upgrade I would do with respect to lights is get OEM led headlights and tails.

Details sketchy at this point as VW hasn't officially started selling them as yet. Well at least not in the Euro spec Jetta.

American based GLI has Bi-Xenon LED headlights for sure already.

I have seen videos of the LED tails as well but not sure if they for the Jetta Hybrid only. The tails for sure are nice. VW using continuous LEDs vs the individual ones you see on the backs of Q5 for example.

Guy in Brazil has installed the tails already:

Would it be a matter of getting the lights, and also the loom? Like for my Renault vehicles, I have an electronic catalog for the brand. Parts that can work on the sport version to the Clio were compatible with the non sport. i does confirm this with Renault UK/France and also with a Renault Tuning Specialist in the UK.

Not sure. Info so far is from other forum members in foreign countries buying from people separate from VW direct. Hoping it is plug and play in terms of harness/looms and minor coding with VCDS.

if the head lights have hids in them then the loom would be different i suppose due to ballast etc... cant imagine being too different for taillights

spent saturday evening installing new rotors and pads on the MGF...........took it for a lil test drive and noticed:
1) I need a new clutch (hard launch from 5k rsulted in a nice clutchy aroma)
2) ABS nah wuk..........even though I don't really care for ABS in a car, the fact that the car is ABS-equipped and it's not working, bugs me, so I gonna try and sort it out...hopefully just bad wheel sensors or summ simple

Things I did since I bought it in March (other than the pads and rotors):
New OEM wheel nuts since many were mis-matched and some were rounded off
Oil and filter (Valvoline ILSAC-spec 5W40 and Bosch filter)
Had the SmartWax people do a buff and polish
Replaced missing dash binnacle over the instrument panel (ebay)
Fixed faulty power window switch
Fixed broken dead-pedal (footrest)
Replaced missing screws in hood latch (bought a bag of misc. MGF screws from ebay)
Replaced broken tail light (ebay)

On the Vauxhall, nothing much since the Bilsteins...just installed a new brake master cylinder and booster (Toyota, as the originals are unavailable), and serviced the brake calipers

Things to do on the Clio:
1) Touch up the hatch due to faded clear coat.
2) Replace worn front OEM shock absorbers with new ones.
3) Order a pair of Brembo Grooved Rotors.

When we doing this Euro photo shoot?

might be for sale
about 175,000kms
new Goodyear tyres, interior pretty much spotless, usual bumps and dings but no major accident damage
Rear end rebuilt to fix negative camber
Tranny rebuilt by Hobbes but sometimes u put it in D or R and have to wait a 2 seconds for it to engage, occasionally with a jerk
Driver side rear door glass does not go down....cable snapped, glass propped up from inside by a piece of PVC
New air filter, new plugs, a/c works well, 1.6 engine pulls well
all the usual bells and whistles: auto headlights, auto wipers, stalk-mounted stereo controls, 'sport' button etc
any takers at 30k?

try uploading to flickr and linking from there.... you'll get less compression and more preservation of the image quality
