Audi TT Coupe

Postby Bugsy2000 » July 16th, 2010, 10:19 am

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying an Audi TT Quattro Coupe (2000 model) 2700cc. Can anyone advise me if its a good car to buy. What kind of problems are common with this type of car and most importantly how expensive is it to maintain.

I drove it yesterday and damn its fast!!

Thanks

Really nice car, you would have the typical Audi problems which has been discussed in several threads, with the timing belt being at the top of the list. Body and suspension parts may be difficult to source, otherwise its a fine car.

However, the MK1 TT never came with a 2.7L so you need to check that, unless he did a swap. It came with two variations of the 1.8T a 180 and 225hp version found in the quattro as well as a 3.2 VR6 motor. And from what I know I haven't seen any 3.2 models locally.

get a service history on it from Southern Sales.

you shouldn't get any problems with it once the mileage is somewhat low.

and parts shouldn't be hard to get for it either, parts are always readily available online.

TriniVdub - Thanks for your response. I will double check on the 2700cc

equipped2ripp - Thanks for your response. Mileage is now about 75,000km. I already started checking online to get an idea of the cost of parts.

Audi parts are available at a reasonable price (Meaning cheaper than the dealership) at ERM in freeport. May be even more cheaper if you ship it in yourself. What series is the car if you dont mind me askin?

^^^its a 2000 so it should be a PBH-PBJ, sure ERM will have maintenance parts for the motor but suspension/body parts they would not carry those parts in stock and would have to special order it.
