Ouch bunny...my advice if ya certain the belt has oil..its better to replace it IMO....anything done to attempt at cleaning off the old oil will jeopardize the integrity of said belt...

@ EcoTune

Yeah that's true..might as well replace the belt. However there was a belt lube/cleaner that I once used on my Subaru. Will check around and see.

But best bet is to replace.

Change the belt. Absolutely no really reliable way around that. And a belt is not something you want in poor condition.
Also, stop using purple blaster in your engine bay unless you dilute it like 1:3 or less. In fact I don't recommend it at all. It isn't very friendly to rubber and plastic parts that get heated often in my experience. And modern euro engine bays have a lot of those. If you're confident that you absolutely wash off all of it, and will appropriately lubricate and dress those areas after it is a bit better though.

I agree, try simple green products instead. The dealer Interchem is located in Barataria. The products are biodegradable and wash off completely with water.

Guys - Any of you would be interested in (or know someone who'd be) in a used 2011 B7 Passat (the current model - comfortline)?

On mornings when I start up I'm experiencing a rough idle. Any thoughts.

Thinking rough Idle as the fuel is cold, then after it heats up the engine smooths out...only logical assumption I can offer, provided it only really occurs on first start up for the morning.

I'm assuming you guys means rough idle as in you feel the engine rocking the car?If so I get same..don't think it's anything to worry about...

According to SSP_359
The injectors need to precisely inject and atomise the
fuel in a very short time.
In the double injection catalytic converter heating
mode, fuel is therefore injected twice. The first time
during the intake stroke and the second time approx.
50° KW before ignition TDC to warm up the catalytic
converter quickly.
In homogeneous mode, the fuel is injected during the
intake stroke and is distributed evenly around the
whole combustion chamber.

my warmup usually takes about 1 min where the it idle above 1k rpm then drop off to around 700 ~ 800.

dont know if this explains or helps clarify anything

Thank you guys. And yes rough idle as in the whole car shakes on start, then it smooth out but during the day its intermittent.

Would OEM tire pressure sensors work in our spec Jetta?

Direct tyre pressure sensors won't work. Indirect would though via the abs controller.

yo'd think with so many cars now coming with ABS as standard, a TPMS would be in nearly every car
:-/
My 02 MINI had it but that new Focus doesn't....and seeing as how it came with run-flats, it would be even more important
Thinking of buying the in-tyre system...

Manufacturers move lame I find. They basically cut corners depending on the market. US Jettas get indirect tpms while local ones although capable of the same feature don't get it. Same abs controller. Just missing some wiring and a switch to clear the error in the car - basically the only differences.
