hey. thanks pointman. my car is basically sold. tango, for me the octavia is not costly to maintain at all. its a pretty decent car. its a bit underpowered but at the same time for a heavy car the 1.6 litre gives some pretty good power. its great on gas, runs super and it costs $130 to fill and i can get up to 600kms to a tank. my car is the new kmodel 1Z skoda 2 model. forget about tranny problems. they do not exist. just maintain the car properly and you are good to go. as for replacement parts, an air filter is $150, rear dics pads are $350 etc.

Luvving the 3rd generation 2013/14 Skoda design, carrying the Mk7 golf under the hood. Although it looks like the Jettas' Daddy even the vRS with it's enhanced power 220HP - as the Golf GTI, would be interesting should Sterlin introduce to our market. Even the estate looks great.

Another former exterior designer dalesmobileR of the Audi shifted in 2k8, Jozef Kaban - Skoda Design Director, so far he's heading in the right direction, even if the engines from the VWs'. responsible for developing the design of the Bugatti Veyron.
Sterlin be the first a rapid 1.2TSI and the VRS special orders, cant go wrong

Will the Octavia rs be available locally?

OP the cars are very well thought out ,spacious and robust.

I've owned 2 since 2004/5 and zero issues.

Thinking of switching from a legacy to a new rs.

If I can afford it.

Would it be cost effective to bring down parts for yourself?

Honestly, I used to import all my own parts for the Octavia...things like boot rubbers, filters work out to be $25 cheaper and you can probably get a discount accordingly...

electrical parts, switches, link rods etc....best to import yourself...

OP,my Octavia is for sale FYI if interested....$65k neg

Very Nice Eco

Spoke to Sterling today-the salesman is thinking January would be the earliest that the RS might be available.
Expect a big jump in price as well for the regular Octavias

Thanks, so we are getting the RS? OMFG...you know I was actually going to import it from UK two months ago?

I can't see the Octavia exceeding the cost of the Jetta though as VW Group strategically gives the OK to certain features and model spec...no more than 240K I say

What??!!!! The vRS coming 2014....
Agree with you there Eco Tuner then again, this is the caribbean. (pay through your teeth)
Still can't see it pricing at 300k plus, that would make it more expensive than the current Passat.....lol

PS Marketing don't outsell yourself. Unleash the brand afresh in all aspects.

It should be closer to 5 door GTI golf price which is 380k...as it shares engine with VRS...but it won't exceed that price as the full spec 1.4 Octavia will run about 260k..guess we will see yes

Yea small fix...when you remove the dash pocket the foam between the AC vent and dash pocket don't provide a good enuff seal...you can put a dab of foam around it to seal better

The VRS is 3000 gbp cheaper than the GTI

If they stuck to the pricing scheme then should be round 300 to 340 K anymore than that and them battoo brothers playing de ass ...

That is higher end!

Sports leather seats, sports tuned suspension, tightened/stiffened chassis, bigger/faster engine, sporty body kit, bigger more exclusive rims, sporty body accents and its really fast

oh and I forgot to mention that its really fast!
