As someone who has both I can tell you that it only comes down to you and what you prefer, Bigger screen? More apps? More fun to play with? Get the iPad 2

Business? Link with blackberry? Heavy blackberry user? Serious pc like web browsing? Get the playbook. The ability to bridge your blackberry phone with the tablet can be really useful. The screen size won't matter to you once you're into it to be quite honest, but me being a heavy user of both I must say that it only comes down to what you prefer.

Either way you would be happy with your choice I think.

If you have a BB phone, I say get the Playbook because of the BB Bridge App. If not, just get the ipad.

hey stephon thanks for ur reply...

k what i really wanna know is if the ipad2 is basically just a huge itouch or not??? cuz i had an itouch 4g that i had fun with for the 1st 2 weeks then after i never used it i just rest it down...so is the ipad2 a big itouch or not? what differences are there??? if it is then i'd much prefer the playbook..

how is battery life on the playbook and is a 16gb version gonna be good enough or shud i aim for at least 32gb of storage??? are these new tablets something that u'd find ureself using regularly or are they just toys that u get tired and bored of quickly???

have a lil extra cash and i studying to either get one of these tablets or a logitech z5500 stereo set for my pc ahahahah...help plzzzzz

if you have no use for them, then it will be a toy you put down in a couple months. If you want a tablet that you cant help but use every day, i would vote for the Galaxy Tab. My office provided me with a iPad for a while, and then the TAB. And i must say while the iPad is the superior device, the TAB is more functional for me because its a phone as well, i pair it up to a bluetooth headset and phone, email, browsing, messaging an games all in one plus if fits in my both my jeans back pocket.

If you dont have any use for it other than to show off an play games, buy the speakers, cuz after a while it becomes a chore to carry around and you will jus have it there

He would be traumatized and would never want a tablet again for as long as he lives, best he just buy an hp touchpad from amazon for 250 usd.

Anyways yes the iPad is basically a big iPod touch but that's a good thing, the screen size is what's makes it what it is, but it will be boring and a toy only if you make it one, when I first got mine it was just because I wanted one because it looked cool. Now I can't see myself without it because of the things I can do with it. Docs to go and pages are good apps to start with if you're into the whole office suite. I use virtuoso to play piano when I'm too lazy to get out of the bed etc.

As far as the size, I have the 64 gb models for both devices and I haven't yet crossed 16 gb on either of them.

tbh a tablet ends up being a toy more or less hence why i said buy the el cheapo you will be fed up of it anyway they end up being convenient to check fb or check something online quickly but IMO i get fed up of the whole idea of using one rather than my laptop

to utilize email and bbm on the playbook it has to be bridged thats why i never bothered

for sites that require flash, i use skyfire as my browser on the ipad
but i wouldn't say i do much browsing on the ipad

At the end of the day OP ask yourself what it is you really want to do with the device. You have NOT CLEARLY stated what is your intention for the device so I dont see how we are really helping you TBH.
Tell us what u want it exactly for buddy :)
Who knows we can save you some $$ in the long run.

i tend to agree, the tablet is just hype right now and more like a toy IMO. for functionality get a laptop.

I've seen an HP touch screen laptop in use for taking class notes (handwritten) with the stylus....it was pretty smooth and I was impressed by it.

is there a tablet that you can take CLEAN handwritten notes on? i.e. with a stylus? most tablets i've seen dont have a stylus..

I think you should check out lenovo's new range of tablets. The thinkpad is business oriented with a keyboard attachment as an extra accessory. Starts at US$500 I believe.

For those of you that want a cheap tablet from a reputable company. Lenovo recently announced their Ideapad A1. The cheapest will be the 8Gb one which will be sold at US$199. Cnet's initial thoughts on it are good. Amazon is also developing a tablet and that is rumoured to be cost US$250. Maybe coming out later this year.
