Xbox Live Help - Port 3074

Postby b18b_turbo » December 26th, 2010, 3:50 pm

Hey,

So Im using Blink and yes, the firewall has been turned off.
I went into "NAT" then "Virtual Servers" and selected the "Xbox 360 Live" preset port forwarding for the xbox live service. However I still got the message about 3074 being blocked.

I then did it manually for 53, 80, 88, 1863 and 3074 TCP/UDP. There ports were forwarded to the IP of my xbox 360 and still I am getting the MTU error and port 3074 being blocked error.

The MTU error occurs only when there is a PC using the modem, so that is not an issue. I cannot get past this port 3074 error.

Has any of you had this issue before? If so, please shed some light on the issue.

Thank you.

de menace wrote:You should place your Xbox's IP address in the DMZ setting on your Zhone.

The DMZ setting is located under the "Advanced Settings" and then under the "NAT" settings.

After entering the Xbox's IP address into the DMZ setting click on the "Save/Apply" button.

Then reboot your router and reboot your Xbox.

Most of the time when the Xbox reports MTU issues, it is not really an MTU issue. Just a general connection issue.

On the Zhone, there is no UPnP option, so you need to either set up Port fowarding or use the DMZ option.

The DMZ option is the easiest.

Thanks for that comprehensive response there mero.

However I tried it and I'm still getting the port 3074 error...Here is what my Zhone settings read:

For the virtual servers, http://www.portforwarding.com says that you have to forwaed 53, 80, 88, 1863 and 3074 but I choose the "Xbox 360 Live" service in the drop down menu that was provided with the software which is what is seen in the pic.

Any other ideas?

mero, does having the port forwarding applied and DMZ Host entered cause a conflict?

Ok guys, so I got it up and running.

Here's what I did:

1) Took off all virtual servers
2) Took off DMZ
3) Used a manual IP for the xbox itself and leaving all other settings as default. Apparently the modem had trouble assigning a proper IP to the xbox console. The one I used to get around this was 192.168.1.11

And that was posted in the PS3 thread about 40 minutes before you made your post. Johnnieblue was having the same problem with his Ps3.
