lolz @ apple watch prices.

I hope apple is selling a hub for that USB C port. What if a person is charging the laptop and uses a usb mouse and wants to connect a flash drive? they talked about that?

they addressed it by first saying that with the proliferation of bluetooth and wifi, people no longer need to plug anything into the laptop anyway :|

Guess we will see more of these wireless flash drives.
SanDisk 64GB flash drive that connects to your laptop or mobile device via Wifi

I'm sure there will be USB-C hubs though, and I believe it can be daisy chained like Thunderbolt.

"The new USB standard supports data transfer speeds of 10 Gbps (yes, GIGAbits), and power delivery up to 100 watts. Perhaps the best feature of the new USB connector is that no matter what orientation its plugged in as, it will still work."

well we definitely gonna be seeing guys buying that $79 type C adapter and a USB 3.0 hub.

Thankfully this is only the macbook aka the lowest line now in the spectrum of these laptops. That CPU is actually not pure laptop spec cpu though.

firstly it's not the MacBook Air. This is called simply MacBook. The model lineup in ascending order is the MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

Secondly most smartphones have only one port that works for charging, data transfer, HDMI and everything else. USB-C just does it faster at 10GB/s and 100W of power.

there are also hubs like these for those who really need one:

yeah but the MacBook is a Core-M processor which makes the MacBook Air more powerful. You can do video and photo editing on an Air, but not as much on the new MacBook.

I think the reason for the Air not getting retina is the battery. A retina display would drastically reduce the battery life. the only way to put in a new battery would be to redesign the entire inside of the machine to use the new layered battery.

seems if you want the best of both worlds you would have to wait for the second iteration of the new macbook, or sacrifice portability and go with the pro

But I find the 13" pro isn't that heavy at all or bulky. Of course the 15" May lack the portability.

Na man, the 15" isn't bulky either. Wider than the 13, and barely a pound heavier. I move with it fairly easily.

Any man complaining about the portability of the 15 inch Retina MBP is a beta male and/or was never around for the beast that was the 17 inch MBP.

Traditionally the MacBook was the lowest end model (Think back to the plastic MacBooks)
The Airs have been relegated to that position now and will likely be milked for a couple more years before being killed.
The Pros will get a redesign and possibly a slim down soon enough.
