I would guess it would be the proper practices to avoid the spread of disease/infection at the workplace. Ensuring chemicals aren't ingested by improperly or unwashed hands. PPE that could be worn to avoid the spread of diseases as simple as the flu or as serious as HIV.

Kinda jobs it leads to? Giving lectures/speeches about occupational hygiene at other companies?

true but ah lil more than that. For example an occupational hygenist would take environmental levels of chemicals in the air, devis a sampling stragety weather it is a environmental sample or personal sample or even a combination of the two. Provide the calculations for the flow rate of the exhaust ventallation system, devise the proper respirator to use as well as a schudle for changing of the filters used on the respirators.

they can also do a noise survey and check the hearing loss for the employees and take steps to minismise this.

they would even get involved in making a HIV policy in keeping with the ILO standards.

occupational hygine is a vast and intresting field

BPTT has on full time as well as petrotirn. the bigger compaines would employe one full time or consutl wiht them on occasion. most safety pratictioners should have some if not sound knowledge of these pratices
