we need a highway code......as most road laws simple to comprehend, won't tax people much to buy/download a copy and keep and read...

I saw a hard copy of the new list of fines.....would like a soft copy though...also in this booklet I did not see anything relating to the inspection of cars and vans in terms of fines

Goodnight all...

If I missed the info I apologize... I looked...

I am looking for anything in the law describing the use of filter lanes. I always assumed that while on the filter lane, you speed up to the speed of traffic in the lane you are merging onto ... Where an off ramp has a lower speed limit than the highway... How does the filtering process work ... Because to speed up to the 80k to merge, which is what you do to safely merge, you will be breaking the speed limit on that lane....

to filter unto oncoming traffic, put your turn signal on and swing hard...doesnt matter if he's close or not....

if done correctly you can move from the filter lane to the fast lane in less than a second

I believe that it is covered by reckless driving.

52. No person shall drive, ride, draw or propel a vehicle other than a motor vehicle (in respect of which similar provision is made in section 71 of the Act) or ride any animal on any road recklessly, or at a speed or in a manner which is dangerous to the public, having regard to all the circumstances of the case, including the nature, condition and use of the road, and the amount of traffic which is actually at the time, or which might reasonably be expected to be on the road.
