I am long overdue for an upgrade, but what would you guys recommend between the intel i5 750 vs amd x6 1050, I might wait for the new am3 bulldozer cpus that suppose to be release next january.

I think you should go with the Intel, i believe the intel has A 8MB Cache where as the AMD has 6MB , the cache is storing memory for requests for data and the Intel has batter over clocking capabilities

The intel does have better overclocking capabilities. If I had to do it over I would have gone i7 or i9...maybe around a 2.8 and overclock that.

wow that was VERY impressive....

right now im in my GLEE....slowly maxing out each piece of hardware my beast can possibly take...

so far my RAM and HDD is the bottleneck of:

Asus Maximus Extreme II board (liquid cooled)
intel Quad Core i7 2.8ghz
ATI 5770 1gb DDR5 HD video card
but only 2gb OZC 1600mhz DDR3 platinum plated

so by next week imma be rockin 8gb DDR3 OCZ platinum plated (4x4gb)
and a 256 samsung SSD... if things go according to plan


if not....it's still runnin SC2 practically FLAWLESS... not ONE frame drop on ULTRA...

depends on which SSD u buy eh.....most SSD's lacking on write speed compared to conventional HDD's, right now, i find sumn like the Velociraptor makes more sense....
but then again, buyin premium PC components never makes sense, we just do it to have the best
