Strange Circle around the sun

Check out a pic of a circle around the sun I notice this morning

its a sun halo caused by particles refracting light - nothing too unusual
someone posted a pic of one a few months ago on the forums

I was looking at a coworker's pictures and was surprised to see that red spot in all of them.. the Halo I could explain, the red dot i cant...

for those who are interested i took more pics of the sun at the same time as the last for 3 days in a row and i have photographed the same object...also used a welding goggle and its there.. what myt it be?
