He may not be solely responsible for Apple's success, but people are familiar with him being involved with Apple's recent great products. Some people may not like Apple's overpriced products but you can't say they didn't push technology with their innovative "outside the box" thinking.

Who could forget the launch of the iPhone which changed they way we perceive a phone.

it is really sad to see such a great tech icon in this condition. It should really drive home that having all the money in the world (Apple has more money than the US Govt and Apple passed Exxon Mobil last week as the world's most valuable company) can't make you live forever or buy you your health.
