Just to backtrack a bit. To me it looked like the pass of the baton was almost not made but made when they were already outside the handover zone. When Michelle Lee Ahye reacted swinging her arm downward to the track in anger, it didn't look like she had the baton.

I could be wrong.
I think we would have to hear from the athletes.
