i think this is the coolest thing out of the movie, has all the tech hobby DIY'ers trying to make a bb8

the one in the movie obviously has magnets and more complex motors and gyroscope. I am fascinated by it and how it can be used in real life.

One of you Star Wars eggheads help out a casual fan, please.
I hear that some white people taking offense at the former storm trooper character being revealed as a black man. A black man as a frontline character.

So q1: Aren't the storm troopers clones?
Q2: weren't Billy Dee Williams and Sam L Jackson black too?

Trailer implies the fantasy land cheese fest of the prequels are gone. Looking forward to seeing the movie.

The storm troopers were clones of the bounty hunter boba fet or jango fet ( one was the original bounty hunter and the other was one of the clone babies he took as a son, I can't remember who is which, as well as well *spell )

Now, even in the initial set of clones some were different to others. Not all clones do the same thing or are exactly exact. Then, they had a good specimen for the troopers, but there may have been other good specimen and another was used.

After thr empire was demolished, the remnants could have bought, captured, recruited non clones to fill their ranks.

These are not tthe answers u are looking for but because it started out as a clone army, it doesn't have to remain a clone army.

Let the haters hate. It have a number of reasons a black man could be in a white man army.

They not beating up about brienne of tarth being captain phasma, another leader of a trooper section, but a woman.

Fleck dem. I think its more interesting to have a different person be a trooper.

anyone could have been enlisted as a Stormtrooper. The Fett clones were specifically for the Clone Wars.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Stormtrooper
By the time the Galactic Civil War began in earnest, Jango Fett's clones were heavily supplanted by clones based on a variety of templates around 9 BBY,[13] followed shortly after by enlisted Humans.[19] Thus, the Fett clones were ironically reduced to a minority status after years of virtually filling the stormtrooper ranks in its entirety. According to a stormtrooper's entry log in the 501st Journal, none of the Fett clones were ever truly able to come to terms with serving alongside recruits and different clones, all of whom were disdainfully dubbed as the "new guys."[13] Commander Cody, a first generation clone of Jango Fett and a veteran of the Clone Wars, found stormtrooper recruits to be absolutely intolerable. Due to the significant decrease in the Imperial Military's operational effectiveness and his own feelings of nostalgia over the Republic's "army of one man," Cody viewed enlisted troopers as incompetent idiots, all of whom he would have gladly sacrificed for just one real clone trooper.[19]

Despite the influx of new troopers from various sources, the ranks remained dominated by Human males, thus reflecting the New Order's Human High Culture. By 0 BBY, roughly one-third of the stormtroopers were clones based on the Fett template, while recruits steadily became the majority within the Stormtrooper Corps.

Service in the Stormtrooper Corps was open to both Human men and women, but female stormtroopers were an extremely rare sight under Palpatine's reign and on average there were never more than three female stormtroopers within a whole legion.[1].[21] In spite of this disparity, some female troopers served in elite units, such as the Coruscant Guard.[22]
Female stormtroopers underwent the same hard training as their male counterparts. Only the best of the best recruits were selected for the stormtrooper corps. Once accepted into the stormtrooper corps, every trooper was treated as an equal. There were no differences between males and females. They even shared the same barracks. Wearing the exact same white stormtrooper armor, one could not distinguish between a male or female stormtrooper.[1]

How the 'Star Wars' trailer conquered the world, by the numbers

http://mashable.com/2015/10/20/force-aw ... ebWQ48z5q2

If you haven't seen or heard anything about Monday night's Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer by now ... well, let's just say NASA would like to know your whereabouts, because you're clearly living under a rock on Mars.

The trailer, which coincided with the opening of online ticket presales for the movie, has led to all sorts of eye-popping figures. We're not just talking about the increased viewing figures on TV or the massive viewing figures online. Presale records were shattered into tiny pieces, and ticketing website servers were tested to the limit. Many failed the test.

SEE ALSO: The only 'Star Wars' trailer analysis you need

Let's do the numbers.

9.6
The overnight ratings from Nielsen on ESPN's Monday Night Football, where the trailer debuted, meaning roughly 10 million households were watching the game live or on their DVRs immediately after. This is a 13% increase over last week's numbers, which was a far more anticipated and thrilling matchup between the Steelers and the Chargers.

Not surprisingly the numbers peaked at halftime, with nearly 12 million watching around the time the trailer aired.

14.6 million
The number of views on the official trailer's YouTube page as of Tuesday 4 p.m. ET. At least 3 million of those views came during the day in the U.S., suggesting that the buzz around the trailer is driving productivity down in offices across the country.

The previous Force Awakens trailer, on April 16, racked up 64.6 million views in its first week, and the first trailer back on Thanksgiving managed 58 million views in the same time frame. Both were all-time trailer viewership records, and trailer No. 3 looks set to beat both.

SEE ALSO: Don't give in to your anger: That #BoycottStarWarsVII hashtag was the work of trolls

8.9 million
The number of views the trailer has on Facebook as of Tuesday 4 p.m. ET. At first, the views on Facebook outpaced the views on YouTube, and took just 23 minutes to reach the million-view mark. The post has somewhere in the realm of 215,000 Likes and 400,000 shares — and the first comment is from Star Wars fan Mark Zuckerberg, which has more than 5,500 Likes on its own.

$6.5 million
Revenue generated from IMAX screening sales alone in the first day of sales. Compare that to the previous record for IMAX ticket first-day presales — $1 million — held by The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers.

1,000
The number of screenings of the movie that completely sold out on AMC's website in less than 12 hours — although the theater chain was at pains to point out that there were still some 4 million tickets available for opening weekend. The company is also screening all seven movies as a marathon in 39 locations.

Meanwhile, over at Movietickets.com, the movie represented 95% of all sales in the last 24 hours.

8x
Fandango also had a jaw-dropping night. The online ticketing service hasn't revealed actual numbers yet, but it says it sold more than eight-times the number of tickets for The Force Awakens than it did for its previous first-day record for sales, set by The Hunger Games in 2012. And that's no small potatoes; Hunger Games came close to setting an opening weekend record, cashing in at $152 million. May the odds be ever in Star Wars' favor.

Traffic to the whole site was seven-times its normal volume, Fandango added — and that led to "intermittent technical challenges that caused some consumers to queue online longer than expected," according to a statement. Movietickets.com also saw a great deal of crashes.

40
The number of servers that Alamo Drafthouse, a smaller-sized Texas-based theater chain, had running simultaneously to try to cope with Force Awakens demand. And it still wasn't enough; for at least two hours, fans trying to buy tickets at Alamo were met with a "database error" dialog box.

Alamo CEO Tim League called it "the single biggest simultaneous surge for movie tickets our industry has ever seen," and apologized for the fact that the surge "exposed an unforeseen flaw in the ticketing infrastructure itself that we were unable to fix on the fly." One unexpected result of the crash: an increased number of customers walking up and buying tickets at Alamo theaters in person.

$2,000
The price of some tickets already being offered for sale on eBay. Seriously.

58
The number of days until the Force Awakens hits theaters. Brace yourselves: the hype is only just getting started. Let it in.
