Postby nos_specialist » November 2nd, 2012, 5:40 pm

Good day tuners, jus decide to share sum stuff that i doin...and maybe get some ideas, or you can even post up projects that you all are doin as well...
D.I.Y projects that Recycle, and Reuse old stuff...

Check this out, maybe u got one at home, dont throw it out..reuse it.

An innocent little dell case, minding its own business..

Image

transformers sound..bak bak bak urk urk urk....
BOOM
Image

Computer case is now a tool box, with screw driver rack and pull out draw for screws.

Image

Second one, I went to buy some material for the house....and i saw a couple of dense fiberboard tubes..., the workers say they dump it .....and i decide to pack sum up on the van and bring it home...

Image

i think its ideal to make some round subwoofer enclosures...it its about 1.5 inches thick..
i however dreamt up a plan with the thinner tubes i got..

i chopped it up, and with some old plywood i had lyin around...

Image

Image

Image

jus saved a tube from goin to the dump.....

any how, i got some more of these tubes...and i cud get more to reuse, do u all have ideas what i cud build with them?.....

and maybe u got some stuff around the house that cud reuse....be innovative.

LOL...I like the PC case/tool chest. Wasn't expecting that at all...

Is that a chair you made with the tube (item on the left in the last picture)? How strong is that thing?

take the tubes and plyboard cut caps to cap off the ends....and cut then in half - lengthways and fill with soil- promix is over rated....and plan chive and celery and stuff..NEVER pay for seasoning again.... 8-)
you could also use the tubes and make the legs for the trough....or go hydroponics....see hydro thread!

^^ if i had the space i will do that, but my concern of doin planting...is water soak...i sure water will wreck these tubes over time, constant soaking etc....however i cud get metal barrels at work if anyone wants...jus provide transport, and i will request some...

I gonna do a lil bit of work on my stuff today...

that's not a problem. line the tubes with plastic before putting in soil.

I cut the bottom out of one and put a crappy Nippon America 10" , doesn't sound great but it's good enough for a quick thing, no need to cut a port either

You can full it with wet gravel and lift weights
Stock up on water in the event of a zombie outbreak
Use it as fermentation tanks for yo alcohol
Seal it up and string together a few and make a raft
Drop it in a recycling bin
full it with faeces and put it in somebody car
mind fish
grow weed

Took a broken UPS and turned it into a 12V powersupply

Image

The battery was dead, but if you can fit a battery + capacitors, it will be better
the hardest part was finding the correct wires to use, but it was still easy

took a broken wall switch like this Image

and turned it into a distribution block, took out the little black box from inside in and filled it with wire strands and foil, it takes up to 6 or 8 gauge I think
Image
Image
sanded it to remove the raised writing and painted it green to rice it out

took a microwave transformer and busted it open to remove the secondary coil incase I needed it in the future, I would suggest that you don't do this and you cut off the windings instead unless you have a welding plant to weld the core back together because it hums really loud even though I have it clamped down
Image
Image
the plan was to use it as a small welding plant for small projects
I don't have a working clamp ammeter so I can't check the amperage output but I was getting 4V with those secondary windings
