WTK: Motorcycle Insurance

Postby Kongorealm » January 21st, 2013, 3:47 pm

I require assistance in obtaining insurance coverage for a motorcycle. I contacted a few companies and brokers but only got one quote (from Bankers) as the others don't offer this service. The other companies only provide coverage if you are an existing policyholder with substantial business.

Can someone direct me to companies that offer this service. I want to get an idea of the cost from other companies that may offer this service as the quote I got was $2,650 which I consider to be high. If better can't be done, then I would have no choice but to go with the aforementioned company.

Thanks and Regards.

NB: I did search the forum for information but the existing threads but it wasn't much help as the recommended companies don't provide (other than Bankers).

Do you deal with someone in particular? I will call in the morning...Thanks
Update: Called 21st Century and they are not willing to conduct business unless you currently have a policy with them.

I will be going with Bankers... :|

Well the rep on the phone told me the company would not be able to facilitate me. Its depressing to know that bike insurance is so difficult to obtain in this country. The only damn reason is I'm getting insurance is because its the law!

Crap!!!! In the process of obtaining my license and looking ahead to the insurance phase. This is very disheartening. I need to be street legal in 2 weeks.

Bankers said I needed to have my license for 1 or 2 years before they can cover me. So, prove to the authorities that you can ride and are aware of traffic laws but sit on the license for 2 years then get insurance. Like having it for 2 years says I have experience or something......ridiculous!!!!!
