Also spoke to a pundit about this and I got the same answer.
Diwali is the 3rd of November 2013.

I do not agree with misleading the Hindu population just for the purpose of calling an election.

According to the pundit I spoke to, Sat is saying the day is the 2nd, and more than likely they are going to use his opinion.

Sat however does not represent or speak for all Hindus in T&T.

Spoke to d pundits and basically divali period starts late on the night of the 2nd and finishes on the night of the 3rd. The actual date suppose to be on the day that twilight falls which is the 3rd.
Its easy to see how the whole world could get confused with this rocket science like calculations...
Whats that? ... Only satos get confused.. Ok carry on...

We know the date: 3rd Nov 2013
It is the leaders who are trying to pull the wool over our eyes by changing the date to their convenience that is causing the disturbance.

Yu never know with sat.. He gets at least half of the dates wrong... Maha sabha always celebrating a day early or a day late... Its only because of elections its a big deal now

This is correct. In india it is held on both 2nd and 3rd depending on what state you live in. It is also supposed to be for 5 days from the 1 to 5 nov.

This is correct. In india it is held on both 2nd and 3rd depending on what state you live in. It is also supposed to be for 5 days from the 1 to 5 nov.

The Hindus in T&T celebrate Divali on the day that is dedicated to Mother Lakshmi.
This is the day that the deyas are lit.
By declaring the day on the 2nd, the leaders of this country are misleading the population.
This is where the problem lies.
Explaining that the festival spans 5 days still does not change this fact.

They are not misleading the public as in india in some states it is held on the 2nd and some on the 3rd for this specific year.

Is this the norm every year to hold it on different days in different states? Or is it just this year?
