Good to see NGC containing cost and looking after shareholders interest.

Nothing new here, just look at NGL financial statements and you will see the EPS for Q3 2015 (28c per share) which is almost 1/3 of the EPS for Q3 2014 (83c per share).

However at the IPO price even with low commodity prices TTNGL will still be able to pay a 5% dividend so not a bad investment if you consider it to be a hedge against TT dollar depreciating and you can wait until commodity prices rebound in a couple of years. I am guessing also that when gas from BP Juniper platform comes on stream it should also have a positive impact.

Should TTNGL shareholders be worried after OPEC decision to increase production, Iran coming on board with high output levels. Oil prices to fall further even to the end of 2016.
Energy companies already getting hit. Exxon and Chevron down by more than 5%.
Would PPGPL make a profit next year and would they pay a dividend to TTNGL in hard times?

Of course they will make a profit! It may be a very small profit but there will still be profit! Last time I checked oil and gas is still the most important commodity on this planet.

Stupid question here, but would the announced recession and the 600 workers fired from Mittal affect investor confidence in PPGPL.

Nah! steel is a whole different ball game. Chinese dumping steel all over the world cheaper than anyone else can produce. Mittal was also trying to renegotiate their gas contracts with ngc to get even lower prices. Thing is that their prices are already really low and with the current gas shortage NGC will be looking to sell what they have to companies and markets that offering the better prices.

Dv,
While.I.don't think there will be a direct effect, there will be an impact on inv confidence in general...possible tipping the demand supply equation towards excess supply.

Keep an eye on volumes of other shares...they will.prolly dry up for the month as people are distracted.

How come dey only pay 50c dividends.
Ah thought dey had ah set ah money already made.

Speculation of a dividend of over $1.75 was to be paid,
according to the previous NGC president.

A 1.75 div on a 21 dollar stock... is an 8% yield.

Which is high in this environment.

You think that's the best use of funds with the cloudy outlook?

2.3% is still better than what you get at most banks.

Those of you who have a background in economics and finance, what would you recommend I read in order to better understand the economy and the current plight facing it? I'm not a complete noob, but I've only been exposed to science subjects for my entire life.

If the dollar devalues to say 12TTD:1USD, would the stock prices change to reflect that? That is if a stock were priced at $2 when the exchange rate was 6TTD:1USD, would that stock now be priced at $4TTD or would it remain the same?

Look for the articles that are specifically abt TT and not LatAM/Caribbean in general.
You'll need to register for an account tho.

So, at the current price ($21.00), people who jumped on the IPO price are basically screwed...or not..

Dividends have been distributed and price still good at 21.50.

I wonder if they devalue the currency what effect that will have on the market as a whole.

How does that mean they are screwed? At $21, if you bought at an IPO price of $20, you made an unrealized return of 5% in 6 months. Dividends of $0.50 were another 2.5% in return. So a total of 7.5% return.

If you were to sell at $21, then your realized return would be the above minus the broker commission.

Initially it was, but when oil and gas prices dropped, following the delay, they adjusted it to $20.00. It was still expected to drop below that value though.

The real people who come out on top are those who got the shares at reduced rates.
