I would expect that, in keeping with public safety protocols worldwide AND HERE IN T&T , that glass bottles WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
WRT the cooler thing....I'm sure there will be official pronouncement on same.
.
It would be nice to have several vendors with as wide a selection of drinks/foods as possible....

Thanks for the response link but this doesn't really provide an answer......

[BLOG]: CMRC Round 2 to be held at Wallerfield this weekend!

Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » August 22nd, 2014, 12:20 pm

This is a blog post. To read the original post, please click here »

CMRC Round 2 to be held at Wallerfield this weekend!

This weekend’s highly anticipated return to Wallerfield and hosting of the second round of the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) is an occasion of pride for everyone involved, and not just for the Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA). Fans who were last there in 2006, and also those visiting this historic motor racing venue for the first time have an exiting weekend of racing ahead.

Perhaps the most recent CMRC change is the expansion of the regional competition to include CMRC races for Group 2 cars and Superbikes (although the two-wheelers will not feature on the Wallerfield schedule). Also, the points scored by Group 2 drivers are added to those notched up by their teammates in Group 4 and put towards the year-end Country Championship.

Image

And that is where this weekend might play a crucial role in the 2014/15 competition. For a variety of reasons, the Group 4 turn-out for the Return to Wallerfield from around the region is somewhat below expectations, but an action-packed weekend of racing is in prospect nonetheless, which will definitely shake up the points table and give the host nation, T&T, a chance of drawing much closer to its rivals.

The CMRC also has a new governing body, the Caribbean Motor Racing Association (CMRA), a non-profit organisation comprised of representatives of the four host countries: Barbados (Sean Maloney, Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc), Guyana (Ray Rahaman, Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club - CMRA Chairman), Jamaica (Silbourne Clarke, Jamaica Race Drivers' Club) and Trinidad & Tobago (Robert Amar, TTASA).

The redeveloped Bushy Park Circuit in Barbados (July 5/6) hosted this year's opening round, an honour traditionally accorded to the Dover Raceway in Jamaica; the new split-season format, however will see the final round staged there early next year (February 22), after round three at the South Dakota Raceway in Guyana (November 16).

As is often the case in the CMRC, the 'home side' came out on top, Barbados leading the Country Championship after round 1, with 203 points, split almost evenly between Group 4 (98) and Group 2 (105). They lead Guyana by only 31 points, however, with Jamaica a further 21 behind, and Trinidad & Tobago trailing in fourth place, just now starting to recover from having no home for circuit racing for the past eight years.

What has been achieved in eight weeks’ time at Wallerfield – transforming an overgrown and desolate location suffering from eight years of neglect into that befitting of an international racing meet – could not have been done without an extraordinary level of commitment and cooperation from individuals and organisations across the country. The management team of TTASA has enjoyed both financial and in-kind support, for which the local motorsport community is grateful and indebted.

Image

TTASA is looking forward to establishing a permanent home for motorsport and plans are well advanced with respect to the introduction of the Formula 4 series, which is on target to commence in early 2017. This will be staged at a new FIA-approved circuit, which is in the planning stage at present. Plans are also in progress for the launch of a national grassroots racing programme for go-karting, which will commence in the first quarter of 2015.

The club would like to extend thanks and appreciation to those officials at the Ministry of Sport, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, all of whom have supported the staging of this event. TTASA is also looking forward to developing motorsport tourism together with all the relevant authorities for the benefit of every citizen.

Seaboard Marine, whose generous sponsorship of the shipping logistics enables competitors to move their equipment around the region to participate in the CMRC has also played a pivotal role. Other Principal sponsors include Coors Light, Scaffolding Experts and 104.7 More FM. The full sponsor list is extensive, as many companies have stepped forward to render assistance. A commemorative magazine will also be given to race fans at the meet.

TTASA would like to acknowledge with thanks every competitor, particularly those who have travelled from Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Barbados, along with their friends and supporters. Special thanks also goes to the marshals, officials, and rescue services. Spectators and competitors can expect a safe and exciting race weekend. Tickets are priced at TT$100 for general admission and $1000 for VIP. Children 12 and under are allowed free admission. Stay tuned to the Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association, Zorce, Trinituner.com’s facebook pages and trinituner.com for up-to-date information.
