There's a Powerseller that has leather kits for sale.

Basically oem pre cut stuff just to install.
A quick search will find it

2016 Hilux Spy shots

Postby PariaMan » April 28th, 2014, 3:13 pm

http://www.carsguide.com.au/news-and-re ... 2_20140422

The eighth-generation of Toyota’s top-selling HiLux has been spotted undergoing evaluation in Victoria, with two lightly-disguised mules giving us our first taste of how the new model will look.

Not expected on sale until 2016, eagle-eyed Carsguide reader Colin Ozzie Wiese snapped the two prototypes parked in Ballarat, and appear to represent entry grade 2WD and high-riding 4WD dual-cab models.
The lower 2WD model is wearing ‘Caution Left Hand Drive’ signage on the rear, suggesting that the mules’ presence is part of the new HiLux’s global evaluation.
The HiLux prototypes appear to be wearing production head and taillights, with the 4WD mule wearing what looks to be a Toyota Genuine Accessories bullbar with added driving lights.
The frontal styling of the new model looks to follow the muscular detailing of the new Kluger SUV, while also referencing the full-size Tundra truck sold in the US.
A deeper rear window can be seen, and the new model looks to continue with the current model’s slanted tailgate design, with the upright taillights featuring similar blocky detailing to the current Prado SUV.
The taillights also appear to wrap around to the bodyside more than previous models, following a similar but inverted approach to the current Mazda BT-50.
The two mules are pictured alongside a current-model SR5 4WD dual cab and Ford Ranger XTR dual cab, with the two production models likely being used by engineers as a benchmark for the new model.
The current seventh-generation model was the third best-selling car on the Australian market in 2013, despite being on sale locally since early 2005, and continues to outsell the Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton and Nissan Navara at the top end of the light commercial ute segment in 2014.

hey guys...

Very thrilled to be joing your thread......Recent acquisition of a hilux.......anyways...
Took the van in for the 5000 service......I noticed that they changed the oil but I dont think the oil filter was changed....I am seeing on the service sheet that the oil filter is changed at the level B service at 10000km.......

With my other vehicles I am accostomed changing oil and filter at the same time.....

Is this a normal procedure to change oil every 5k and filter every 10k?....or should I be worried about this practice at Toyota service....

Advice please guys...thanks!

I believe this to be a very bad practice especially for the first service of the vehicle. The most amount of wear metals that an engine sees in its normal life is generated in the first 1000km. That first filter therfore has a lot of contaminants in it and to cycle new oil through that for another 5000km...
I did my first oil change at 964km; my next oil and filter change at 4996km and my next oil and filter change at 100025
From here on I will run intervals of 6000km to 8000km
Total Quartz 9000 and shell rimula R4 are my current engine oils of choice
I advise changing the filter every oil change

Nearly impossible to get. Better to adapt a pair of 2004 tacoma mirrors

this is excellent advice not just for Pickup but for all vehicles thanks "kamakazi"
a regular scheduled service is always advised for any vehicle..

i will also add change your transmission oil say 30,000km as per some vehicles user manuals.
this is done by all sellers and should be done periodic.

changing your fluids at periodic times is vital
- Differential Oil
- Coolant
- Brake Fluid
- Engine Oil
- Transmission Oil

all filters Oil and Fuel Filters as well as Air Filters must be changes as well

these small things ensures the life of a vehicle is extended.

Water trap probably filling up with water. .
There is a wingnut at the bottom of the filter housing to drain of water/fuel. .. Two full turns to open, place a rag and hold a cup to catch the fluid.... Press on top to pump fluid out. ... I believe you should know when to stop.
Remember to tighten it back when you are finished

The prime pump is what is used to push the sediment out. ...I have never had to press it after closing the wing nut :-?

Guys. I am getting a loud sound from the pump. At low revs on acceleration the pump knocks hard then changes its sound pitch to lower. Is this pump serviceable? Remember my mileage is close to half a million kms

There is an article on the web. ..a search for 1kd-ftv timing belt might bring it up. ..I can't remember the site right now. .. but it gives a little detail with pictures about changing the timing belt and water pump in a 2006 model van. ... it shouldn't be much different from the 2009 model

Good evening
Now let me state that I am giving this advice based on my personal experiences with the vehicles.
My old man's Lux has covered approx 140000km without ever draining his tank.
If the water trap has refilled so quickly... you might have very well picked up a batch of diesel with a lot of water in it. Now I am unaware if there is a sensor for water in the tank but draining it would be the fastest way to get rid of water. .. well faster than emptying your water trap every week. (You can do this if you want to save some money)
The sensor might also be problematic or even the filter might be clogging up

Only way to know is to get your hands dirty. .. Or pay someone else to get their hands dirty  and by that I mean you can have the filter changed, and clean the housing/sedimentor thoroughly in the process. If the problem still persists then reach for the tank.

I hope this helps in some small way
