I think the price is at 142 a gallon currently. It's a decent oil it meets the specifications and it is from a reputable company.
I am currently using it in a Lux.

Yup around $140 a gallon. I've used it before with good results. Has a high TBN.

Not really... but it doesn't matter with this particular oil.

My apologies. I think I'm mixing up this TBN with that of Ulltra 15w-40 or possibly another diesel oil I've used , which is around 10.5-11 iirc.

Anyways, the Delo worked good for me in a diesel engine and really good over a few OCIs in a gas engine that had some sludge build up.

Not really... TBN isn't the be all end all of oil change intervals.
New oils have low TBN and very long OCIs.

Nowhere on the bottle states that it should only be used for 5000km... Please don't spread that myth
what oil companies usually print is to follow the vehicle manufacturers recommended change interval

Once the oil has the spec that the vehicle manufacturer requires. .. I will use it and change it accordingly.
Amsoil is good. ... You want to spend the extra money for it ... Good for you.

Currently using delo 400le with a purolator filter

OEM filters are very over rated... In the US they are made by Purolator, Fram and Champ Labs. So, they end up being rebadged low end filters. I don't foresee the Jap made filter being any better either.

I like good oil, meaning the pricey ones. Worth amsoil engines work much smoother with alot less noise, its an amazing oil. It all depends on the state of your vehicle, how hard you push the engine and how often you are willing to change the oil.

As for filters I'm a Purolator buff, but whichever filter you choose make sure it has the backflow valve \ flap to ensure the engine oil does not all drain back down into the sump. Better for the engine on starts because some oil remains above the filter.
