There are a lot of factors

1) 3.0 vs 2.5. The 3.0 carry the chip in the key + the FOB, the 2.5 simply carry the FOB alone

2) did you get a G series key?

3) there is a sequence of door lock/open ignition switch to program the fob, i'm sure i saw it on youtube some time ago.

4) if its the security chip, you will need a diagnostic scanner/toyota diagnostic machine to program the key

Sorry, it’s 2.5. Not a chipped key, a separate normal 4 button that just uses the unlock and lock buttons.
I tried to upload a picture but got an error.

Ok
So its just the FOB to get programmed then.

I attempted it myslef some years ago when i bought a blank key online.

I got it cut by JEL in valpark
I programmed the chip using a padna's launch scanner
I tried all how to get the fob programmed, bit was rel failure.

I took it to a toyota mech who somehow did the same door open/close-ignition on/off sequence, but it worked when he did it

Me eh know how, but it end up working out

On my last vehicle a B14, I did the same it was very easy. Was a prestige alarm.
I think Toyota in 2008 installed a clarion alarm.
