Where to find (non-rice) wheels?

Postby VexXx Dogg » May 7th, 2013, 4:19 pm

I know there is a tyre thread and it's full of info on where has good deals on Rubber, but I can't seem to locate good wheels!

I wanna know where has rim shops with good selection of non-rice wheels for my truck? Anything chrome is out. Nothing too shiny, I like em dark, wide and unassuming.

I don't want to drive all over the place and waste time.

Any ideas where to start?
Much appreciated

MM carries Mickey Thompson rims :)
I believe the one I was looking at when I was there a few months ago (might be what nervewrecker is talking about too) looked like this:

I think I read that someone carries this brand down here as well (might be wheel wizard, not 100% on that)
http://www.mhtwheels.com/default.cfm?brand=488

and I've seen these somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't remember where

Dean's wheels in Diego Martin would have a good selection but much like MM, brace your pocket!

Called around...

Wheel wizard has some that can fit the sportero
MM says that the MT wheels they have only fit suzuki
Wheels plus says salt for wheels

Based on this info, I may be checking wheel wizard weekend. If I see something that catches my eye right away, I'll probably go with it.

The three underneath are the 16's.

The 20'' looks nice but no 16's in it :(

Thanks guys,
wheel wizard have a good selection of wheels, but not the right rubber for me, in the size I wanted.

I saw a set of wheels with my name on it, so I took it one time, in case one of you buggers go and snipe it.

This is what I went with.
Image
Image
17x9 ET0
Satin black beyotches. Not an ounce of silvery glittery bollocks.

Now I want some good AT rubber for it.
What size should I run?

Tempted to go 285/65 R17.
According to the miata.net tire size calculator, the Overall diameter rim/tyre will move from about 30.6 to 31.6 in
Slightly less sidewall that what I wanted, but those wheels grabbed me by the crotch and said "take me, bad boy."

Sweeky, looking for some 275 65 17. According to my calculations, the overall diameter will be about the same as the factory 265 70 16, but I'll get my bigger footprint with an aggressive stance.

Def looking for AT, not HT.
Will tun thru the tyre thread and do some calling around

glad you got through; I hope you'll post pics of how it looks on your truck when you get the tyres sorted out :P
on another note, I think you might have inadvertently created an "Official Truck Rims" thread for this forum 8-) 0X
