ek4ever, you should be a salesman for the dmax.

I wish if the sales rep knew all that.

the engines are as bulletproof as u can get.

Besides the $40k, transfer case and front diff, what's the offer differences in the 3.0 4x2 vs 3.0 4x4?

sweeks, apart from what you listed there are no differences.

the 4x4 has a 4x4 sticker on the rear fender other than that all the features are the same.

2.5L intercooled 4x4- Fire Dept patrol vehicle (mileage 8750km)

The cab is very spacious and d ride is really good, by pickup standards that is

Howevr, after only a few short months d side steps are both bent since they were flimsy from day one, dash board is coming undone on d passenger side of due to the plastic being somewhat flexible so the sun really taking a toll on it and the engine is not very responsive so high revs are needed at times

Very disappointing acceleration considering that my 10yr old 3.0 frontier cud run this, and probly win!

These are jus my observations from a working vehicle's perspective, private usage wud be a lot more forgiving

Thanks for the feedback Havoc.

I read that in the UK there is a new 2.5 twin turbo engine which delivers more power than the 3.0.

too bad we are not getting this as yet. I really wish this dmax was a bit more powerful.

the 4x2 auto is $240 & the 4x4 is $280

Aren't these prices now higher than the Nav of similar spec?

unfortunately we get the detuned engines.

The hi power 2.5l in the Euro is as powerful as the Navara .... 161hp and 400NM.

You could get a 2.5l and chip it with this http://www.bluesparkautomotive.com/carspecs2?carid=2277

HP increases from 136hp to 178hp and torque from 280NM to 358NM

For good reasons. Don't forget what kind of diesel we get here.

all you'll get is plenty of black smoke, and clog up the EGR a lot faster.
Power gain will be mediocre at best, because of our low-octane rated diesel.

Need clean diesel like in the UK and AUS.

I've been researching this pickup for about a year now, comparing it to the others available, and have made up my mind. The looks, features, capability and price make it an easy decision.
Quoted at 205K for the double cab 4x4, new Twin turbo 2.5 engine (400 Nm, higher torque than before) it is also the cheapest of the known branded pickups available.

Twin turbo? Very interesting. I wonder what reliability is like.

Guys from my information SS no longer bring the 3.0 but a high spec 2.5. The 2.5 is a single turbo though it's not the twin turbo 2.5 which the UK gets. The sales rep was not too sure of the power output of his engine. All he cud say is "it's more powerful".

That's the information that I got from them as well. From doing a lot of research ,the new 2.5 engine is the 4jk1-tc common rail with a variable vane turbo which gives out 109 hp and 280 Nm of torque at 1800 rpm. Currently they are out of stock in high spec models and wouldn't be getting until November.
