Turbo Frontiers are back.

Postby turbo boost » August 27th, 2013, 5:51 am

Neal & Massey have brought back turbo frontiers 4x4. Some were issued to wasa this month. They are no longer 3.0 but rather the detuned yd25 than ran the hi rider frontier previously. No power windows, no power mirrors, no power locks, constant running front axles, no cup holders, no sunroof, no running board, no fog lights, no chrome grill or mirrors like before. Not sure what the price tag is like & if it is on the open market or just lease & rentals only but with those features missing a basic navara remains bang for buck imho.

i thought there's nothing like a basic navara? don't they start with the powered SE? a sales man at massy told me the basic navara would make them uncompetitive with the other vans so they would continue bringing the frontier commercial model

a frontier will always be a workhorse

power windows, sunroof etc are just luxury features

hiogher ride height of the Frontier would be better than the lower ride height of teh narvaras when needed for wasa off-road requirements

Massey prob brought in those Frontiers on special order for a company that won the tender bid to supply wasa

without those luxuries, the unit price would be much lower than the other vehicles on the market, giving a great cost advantage to others and may be very advantageous when evalutaing the tender

Yeah they were left over stock for the Auto Rental division going at 185k. It's just a basic Frontier with air bags, ABS and a YD25 engine.
