What are the Cons of using a Suspension Lift Kit+bigger rim

Postby nbnm1 » December 5th, 2013, 9:04 pm

Hey, I am a frontier owner ( the cheap 4x2 model doing 25,000km) and I wanted to lift it (Increase the suspension height). I know there are some universal suspension lift kits on amazon for sale and I was wondering :

If any one here in trinidad have ever done this ?
And what is the effects of doing this (other than ride height) ?
Does this cause the tires to cut faster shocks to wear out faster?
Does this make the van more unstable?
Does anybody have a kit in trinidad for sale or do this here?

Also I want to use a 20 inch rim with 285 50 20 tire profile

The objective here is to make the van look 4x4 ish

its going to be a bit tricky to make a 4X2 look 4X4ish, but you can still lift it......

u can do a suspension lift two ways, buy a 4wd kit and modify alter it to fit ur 4x2, or do a simple suspension lift, both ways once the vehicle is properly aligned and cambered along with timely tire rotation, tires wont cut faster, it may get a bit unstable cuase rememeber COG affects stability....

u can also do a body lift to achieve more height and fender clearance so u can run those larger tires, and that wont have any negative effect on ur suspension.......
