Acceleration delay 2013 ford ranger

Postby crazy » December 9th, 2013, 10:01 pm

I have a 2013 2.2L Ranger . From a standing start if you punch the accelerator hard to the floor there is a 1.5 second delay until the engine reacts. The same throttle delay also exists when you are overtaking at speed. is this normal ? how do i fix this

Am.its a week old. Juwt relax and drive it normal. Why you punching accelertor to the floor? Its not a race car. Its a diesel 2.2 that relies heavily on the huge turbo it carries. Its not going to give you a standing ovation take off. Use it the way its meant too. Drive normal

the delay is not turbo lag.it's caused electronically.
3 way's to eliminate.
1 the firm is supposed to update your ecu which will make it less noticeable, along with tranny update which some owners love, they say van feels totally different
2 ebay aus has a device which plugs in series with your throttle pedal,it's gives you better throttle response and makes issue less noticeable.good reviews on it.
3 remap, there is a guy who has the ability to do it locally for abt 3,000 i thnk.

i would say squeeze the firm for a solution.

I would strongly advise that you do not do anything with this van outside of the firm (hoping that you bought it through McEnearny) because you would void the warranty. I've had mine since February last year and my boost sensor went, for which they ended up replacing the entire turbo unit since they did not have it in stock, and now it seems to be happening again. Scary part is that I am not the only one with this identical problem...

A co-worker of mine - exact same problem - these vans are so sweet but come riddled with so many bugs.

Crazy: Carry it back to the firm immediately
