NEW Extended Cab D-MAX here locally

Postby MGATT » December 3rd, 2014, 10:59 pm

Hey tuners, what do you think?
I haven't seen any on the road yet, but was pleasantly surprised when I went into SSL today, and was impressed.
For someone 6ft tall, I didn't feel cramped sitting in the rear. The only difference between the one in the video and the one in Southern Sales is that the local one is 5- speed Manual Transmission (instead of 6), and is the higher end version in terms of aesthetics; ie, chromed out, better dashboard than the one in the vid (has in-dash cd deck)
The one I saw was 4X4.
For someone who has compromised all these years in terms of tray space, or passenger room, this one seems to meet the middle ground adequately.

Price: $210,000

I'm actually considering the dmax, but I want to know if the local model gets the electronic traction control and electronic stability control?

Honestly, I think the firm understands its place in the current market, and is comfortable with it. These vehicles seem to sell/ lease very well as company vehicles, so I'm not sure the firm is going to bother bringing in a top tier, well spec'd, pricier model which would bring the D-Max closer in price to the current market leaders. Sure they might sell a few nicely loaded models to people who really know about trucks, but those might be the exception rather than the norm.

If they had this a year ago would have bought it in a heartbeat instead of a S/C 4x4 navara.

That storage space behind the seat would have been perfect for our technicians. Now that there's the option we would probably look at this next time we're buying a truck.
