I noted this concern in another tread, evidently someone is listening.

Let me give an update....the new TTASA management is in the process of attempting to regain use of Camden at the moment. They will be acting solely as an ASN and the facility would be open to any registered promotion outfit. This is the most immediate plan of TTASA.

Status: No facility yet. No event scheduled at the moment.

Words of the current chairman of TTASA:

Me: "whats the update with camden?"
VM: "i heard the cars didn't leave the port to go to grenada"

(the reason he responded as such was i asked in the last monthly general meeting if it was possible to get access to camden for a day just to try some of the cars that were going to grenada, not even to have an event, just an opportunity to try the cars....) to which he responded ^^^^

Me: "yes that is true, the cars didn't make it to the GND trip, but we have the event in st lucia in a couple weeks...."
VM: " YOU WILL HAVE ACCESS TO CAMDEN BY THEN"
Me: "is it going to be for an event? or for a test and tune, because we really would like something as soon as possible without the formal headaches of undergoing all the spectator safety"
VM: "im not sure as yet, but you will get camden by then"
Me: "well the event is in 4 weeks...."
VM: "yes don't worry you guys could get to try the car"
Me: "cool, thanks, call me with any updates please"

.....
which is WHY i posted as such.

Title - Message to TTASA !

As the above describes, (open to ant registered promotional outfit) ?

Please in your endeavour to bring good sense back into the sport, I ask that a criteria and a model be established for staging events, in which an interested promoter, in sit down dialogue and or experience history can pre-ascribe his entire logistics and mythology in pre-demonstration that he is capable of delivering on promises along with value for money to all in attendance.

Word on the ground is that every Tom, Dick and Harry wants the spot light to be a promoter. Please chose interested parties wisely and only deal with those that exhibit competence or else we will be right back where we started.

Some of us could guess what will be the qualifying marks for a good promoter ? I hope you, TTASA will not base this only on the need to make money and if this the case, then Drag Racers eating WOOD again.

We will be watching to see if good common sense is as common as they say.

Micro if the powers that be ...be very selective on the capability of promoters ...wouldnt we be back 2 square 1...where only 1,2 or 3 entities stage events ...? and if i am new to promotion ..i would not have a record of competence...then there are some new ideas which woudnt evolve if dick and harry dont get into the spotlight..a big racer was saying that drag and wine is an embarassment to racing ....and now its fully suscribed...i agree with your suggestion of a standard model...i just fraid d sit down...and i feel drag racers will always "eat wood" once they dont recognise it as a serious sport and hence get the sporting Ministry and the public to do so also...

I wish I was TTASA or even part of. I share business interests with one of the guys happens to be on the board so I could pass the relevant info on for you. What I was told is that they're trying to revitalize motorsport completely and making a valiant effort to bring all the local bodies under the umbrella. Last I heard is that it's working since most everyone is glad there's no more Ali and crew. For the 1320 crew, from the names he called as official TTASA management, thankfully this time there are some real drag racers on the board of TTASA. Let's see how it goes

Like most, my race team and I await

Lets make no mistake as to my quote.

No one is born a Father, a Mother, an auto Tuner, or even a promoter, we all have to start somewhere.
In the genesis and beyond I would challenge those who give it to monitor, support and assist, as parents to their young. I also agree that the Sport Ministry should take a more serious approach to this sport, I also believe that they have failed Motorsport and continue to do so.

My optimism that good men should set aside their personal differences for the benefit of all has somewhat faded, and chose to live in colored tape. Those in authority that appear to strangle and strong hold this Sport have had the best of it, so I cry for the young now starting out that they experience the worst.

Good sense is over due, if we want respect we have to earn it, starting with good Governance, this is our right.
