Shouldn't we be looking eastward?

apart from all the above stated my Mishi,

i think in terms of preparation, one thing we should not be without is home insurance, everyone should have it.
if the worst happens this could be one of your most reliable means of assistance, when the storm has clared

Correct (shaves blonde hair)

But we also do have to look westward... we have had instances where storms have formed near us and travelled east

geodude, that's also a very good point.

What is striking is how LOW this potential system is... usually when they're that low, we get it full blast. May be a week or so outside, so we have some time to see how it goes.

MEANWHILE: This is a good time to make sure everything around your home is in order... windows, roof etc. don't forget to stock up on items...

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
800 AM EDT SUN JUN 13 2010

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 800 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
THE SOUTHERNMOST CAPE VERDE ISLANDS HAS CHANGED LITTLE IN
ORGANIZATION. HOWEVER...ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE
FOR SOME SLOW DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF
DAYS AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH. THERE IS A
MEDIUM CHANCE...30 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL
CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

All honesty I'm beginning to be quite concerned...

Usually storms that move as low as this one is (6-7 N) on the map have a tendency to "eye" over or near Tobago or Grenada...
