Met Office issued another bulletin at 6pm today

weather--09-08-10.jpg

Bulletin#2

Date: Monday 09th of August 2010
ISSUED AT:06:26PM

THIS UPDATES THE PREVIOUS BULLETIN ISSUED AT
12.00PM TODAY

THE ITCZ CONTINUES TO INFLUENCE WEATHER
CONDITIONS OVER TRINIDAD
AND TOBAGO.

Trinidad and Tobago's weather continues to be
affected by the ITCZ. As a result we expect
cloudy to overcast comditions with occasional
heavy showers and isolated thundershowers.

These conditions are expected to continue
throughout tonight. The showery and thundery
spells will produce street/flash flooding and
accompanying gusty winds. Landslides/landslips
are also possible given the rainfall events.
Small water courses would be inundated.

Citizens are advised to be vigilant and cautios
given
the weather conditions, both current and
forecast, as
they conduct their daily activities. All
necessary
measures must be adopted to preserve life and
property. Be alert to any discharges from
thunderstorm
activity.

We wish to underscore that at this time Trinidad
and
Tobago is NOT under any Tropical Storm threat,
watch
or warning. The Trinidad and Tobago
Meteorological
Services is closely monitoring this weather
situation
and will issue another bulletin if the situation
warrants.

PUT ALL VALUABLES AT HIGHER GROUND ALL OF YOU LIVIN IN CARONI RIVER BASIN!!

Bulletin#1

Date: Monday 09th of August 2010
ISSUED AT:07:34PM

RIVERINE FLOOD ALERT!
Riverine flood alert for Trinidad is being
reactivated at this time.
Trinidad and Tobago today, continues to
experience moderate to heavy rainfall as a result
of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

RIVERINE FLOOD ALERT!
Riverine flood alert for Trinidad is being
reactivated at this time.
Trinidad and Tobago today, continues to
experience moderate to heavy rainfall as a result
of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

With the forecast for overnight showers and
isolated thundershowers, the probability
therefore for river overspill is a real and
imminent threat!

As oppose to street/flash flooding, riverine
flooding is more widespread and prolonged.

Citizens in general and those residing in the
Caroni River Basin in particular are asked to be
on the alert for rising river waters and possible
overspill. All necessary measures MUST be taken to
preserve life and property.

WE AGAIN UNDERSCORE THAT TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS
NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR
WARNING AT THIS TIME.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is
closely monitoring weather conditions and will
issue another bulletin at 6:00am tomorrow
morning.

depends on the forward speed
as someone else suggested tomorrow afternoon into evening

it is already moving north westward which means it may pass north of us
or even stall right there and head north
