Oil: $400/gall (can be used to 15,000 though but I'd still change at 10,000)
Oil additive: $45
Fuel additive: $54 (last for 2000km)

where sells Liqui Moly? I would mind trying the anti friction additive..

I used their injector cleaner already and it worked really well!

^^ 3stage, how do you use the injector cleaner? Do you have to run it through the tank when filling up or straight through the fuel lines?

Yes, the anti friction additive is bess. Engine is noticeably quieter. I'm using the oil and the oil additive and the fuel additive.

Also getting an additional 50km per tank since.

Thanks LH will call him. BTW got a cleaner from Peakes Gas Station. The directions said you could put it concentrated in the Fuel Filter Canister (like the hilux )and run it for twenty minutes. Did it Thursday and I am monitoring for improvement. I can say thatI amseeing less smoke on startup

^^ I already use a 50:50 mixture of Amsoil Diesel Concentrate & Cetane boost everytime I fillup. In fact I just filled up at Piarco gas station and used the mixture.

I'll probably do the diesel concentrate or cleaner in the canister at 15,000 or 20,000km.
Oil change is due in about 2 weeks so i'll change the fuel filter one time too.

Went to half tank and i got 420km cost me only 57 dollars to fill back. That is the best i have ever got(even better that when i first got the van new).

That process must really work!

Spoke with sweeks a few weeks ago (hey that rhymed!).

He recommended a 50:50 mixture of Amsoil Diesel Concentrate and Amsoil Cetane boost - use a 2oz dose in the tank at each fillup.

That combo should keep the diesel fungus and debris-free, and raises the cetane rating up to 7 points = more power and better fuel economy.

I bought mine from Prolube - 633 6110

Diesel Concentrate Performance Fuel Additive (ADF)
A total system cleaner and lubricity improver for all types of diesel engines. Improves the performance, fuel efficiency and longevity of diesel engines while reducing deposits, black smoke and emissions. Improves fuel economy by cleaning dirty injectors and restores horsepower. Designed for use in heavy-duty diesel engines.....

..... longer for better protection.

Minimizes Soot Loading
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate is a powerful cleaner that cleans fuel injectors and piston rings for improved combustion and better sealing. It minimizes soot generated from incomplete combustion and helps keep soot out of the crankcase. Reduced soot loading controls soot related wear and engine oil viscosity increase.

Fuel Stabilizer
Fuel degradation can cause gums, which increase deposits and the chance of filter plugging. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate significantly improves the oxidation and thermal stability of diesel fuel. It overcompensates for ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel’s potential stability loss caused by extra processing and sulfur removal. Diesel fuel treated with AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate easily meets the requirements of the National Council of Weights and Measures (NCWM) Premium Diesel Fuel Specification for resisting diesel fuel degradation.

Separates Fuel and Water
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate is an alcohol-free product that protects fuel systems against water contamination. It helps prevent fuel/water emulsions and it protects metal against rust. Water can be drained easier and fuel filters are less likely to plug, ensuring drivability.

It removes and prevents deposits from forming as well as reduces soot particles.

Ok, Ok... I meant deposits, not debris.

I love all the shell Rimula's... If the R6 doing the job for you stick with it yes! You can get it pretty much anywhere and don't have to go thru all kinda dramatics to order it...

Shell R6 is $230 per gallon at LDG and Ft Farfan - recommended for newer trucks with common-rail.

Shell R4 is $160 per gallon at LDG and FtF - recommended for older diesels with DPF's and EGR's, which are not common-rail injected.

Shell R3 is $135 per gallon - recommended for older engines and N/A diesels.

pappy is $230 plus VAT for the R6... and no its no Delvac. With the Delvac I felt no difference as the oil got older. You feel and hear the difference with the Shell

Slightly off topic question, how dirty does your oil get after ~5000kms? Please state the mileage of your engine as well as if it is NA or Turbo..

The oil on our B2500 gets really contaminated with soot(?) and looks pretty beat after just 5000kms. Using Castrol CRB Turbo. We also notice that the engine will idle abit rough when the oil has some age on it.

After an oil change, the engine gets noticeably quieter and revs smoother at idle.

I just want to find out how normal this is for a turbo diesel engine..

Same used to happen with our 3.0 Frontier.
Used Shell Rimula X and then Shell Rimula R4 in it.

I found the R4 performed much better than the Rimula X, so I'd vouch for the R4.
$160 per gallon at LDG or Ft Farfan.
Change interval - 5000 or 7500 km.

CRB is awesome stuff ;-) What weight you using? The ole gurl using 25W60 these days ;-)

Anyways, the fact that the oil black means its working correctly. Same experince with the ole Mazda for the oil getting sooty and black quickly.

Used to run the CRB to 7500km only though...

Since I kinda new to the diesel world, I was worried that there may be excessive wear on the engine which might have been responsible for that sooty look..

Using 15W40 in the CRB Turbo..
