Fellas, be very careful and alert especially when approaching drivers on their mobile phones!
Yesterday my brother got knocked down off his police bike by a female driver chatting away on her phone, switching lanes like there was was no tomorrow!!
His damages are minimal, no broken bones, minor road rash, X rays look good.
Despite the law is passed, still be wary of drivers like this please...

Relieved to know your bro got away with only minor injuries.

Glad to hear your bro is ok Keyser.......we've got to be careful all the time......yesterday a couple Nuns tried to take me out on the Beetham :(

There are so many novice drivers out there as well.......they think the indicator gives them "right of way" to pull on you......some don't even bother to use the indicator.

I wish we could start an awarness campaign for driver/motorcyclist........any thoughts on this would be appreciated 8-)

there are many ducatis around......a couple 1098 and 1198 bikes......i've seen a streetfighter S, a couple hypermotards and a couple monsters.......
there are more than a handful of MV's around as well........and there are at least 2 BMW S1000RR's.......
there are quite a lot of exotic and expensive bikes around, but most of them arent sportbikes..........quite a few european naked, adventure and offroad bikes are hidden in ppl's garages.........
there's a bmw adventure bike on trini cars for sale........way overpriced IMO, but still a nice bike.

anyone into offroad riding(not racing)?

plan is to get a good 250cc or 450cc dirt bike and spend some hours just riding through some forested areas and also the vast teak plantations just a few minutes from where i live........
something like this:

hmmmmm thats cool. 8-)

to be honest, my real problem at the moment is getting a bike that suits me.......and the prices are ridiculous......i've been quoted prices for 450 jap enduro/trail bikes that are higher than 1000cc sportbike prices for the same year.......

your best bet might be to check somebody like Rafeez and get a price on a used one from Miami...
But to be honest, for a good off roader used 250cc and up cater to spend $12k up...

^^^i was in the process of checking out local guys, but some things came up in the last few days that push this back till later in the year.......but i'll still monitor the market.

apparently in florida, bikes like these are hard to get used since they mostly sell cruisers and sport bikes there..........Cali, north and south carolina, and new york are the places where bikes like these sell the most, but getting them out of there is the problem.

i'm torn between 250 and 450 four stroke enduro bikes (enduro because its race ready, but street legal with some minor add ons). the 250 is soo light and agile, but if i need to get on the road for a few miles it wont do soo well, the 450 is a bit heavier, and almost as agile, but is more powerful (maybe too powerful for the dirt?) and is a much better on the road.
and to make it more complicated, fuel injection is the new "in" with dirt bikes.....yamaha system gets lots of praise........so it tickles my fancy.

another issue is that since its difficult to get a specific bike in good condition, i'm considering buying new........and while it has its advantages, buying a brand new 450 fuel injected bike is likely to cost around $60K........ :|

I'm not a fan of the Brits, but this video captures the real essence of a motorbike.
