^^bingo! But Daewoo is owned by GM now AFAIK? So it follows that they'll badge the car both ways...or rebadge the Daewoo as a Chevy...or vice versa.

Cruze 1.8 = $220k
Corolla 1.8 = $262k

Cruze:
6-speed tiptronic
17" rims
traction control
etc etc

Corolla:
side impact airbags
no etc.

Verdict:
Once you not involved in a side-impact crash the Cruze wins moreso for $42k less and generally more features, the Cruze is the better buy.

I think it's 189,500 - Fabric
218,500 - Leather / Sunroof / Auto headlights etc. Fully loaded.

I'm not sure though, going off the top of my head, I have the prices in my office somewhere

Lifestyle Motors Trinidad and Tobago

No Recall on Chevy Cruze in T&T
Posted: 25 Jun 2012 10:46 AM PDT
June 27th, 2012.

Last week, GM announced some Chevrolet Cruze will be recalled to make a minor change in the engine lower cover, to avoid that improper oil change practices may allow engine oil or other fluids to get trapped in the cover if spilled on it. There is a potential risk of those trapped fluids to ignite, so GM decided to act proactively. There is also another recall related to the fuel tank straps: there is a potential risk that during a crash those straps may allow the tank to move out of position. Again in this case GM is acting in advance.

Both recalls announced last week, involve ONLY Chevrolet Cruze vehicles built in the US and sold in the US and Canada. The Chevrolet Cruze we sell in our region is built in Korea and is not affected by any of these conditions.

If there is any change or update on this information, we will notify our dealers, importers and customers immediately.

Best Regards,

General Motors Central America and Caribbean

star any word on the arrival of the 1.6 cruze? Also would LSM get the hatchback versions?
I got some reviews from a 1.8 cruze owner yesterday and he is saying the fuel economy is a bit dissapointing as well as the power. I was wondering how those tiny 1.6 units would push such a heavy car. We should get the 1.4T instead, the increase in low end torque may help fuel economy alot and give the extra punch needed.

The 1.6 is already here. Two shipments have already been sold. $169, 650.00 ODR.

No hatchbacks or 1.4T expected for this region thus far.

As for the 1.8LS/LT I was impressed with the fuel economy and power of the Cruze. I drove it in Tiptronic mode most of the time. Rem as you know, driving style makes a big impact on fuel economy. I haven't driven the 1.6 yet.

BTW, the 2013 Chevy Captivas arrived this week. Go check them out.

with 400Nm available from as low as 2000rpm, those new 2.2 captiva's should be just as impressive performance wise like the santa fe, sorento and evoque. (for a diesel)

The shipment came directly from Detroit too! The Santa Fe is 320Nm.
