I need an alternator that is going to charge my starting battery (my only battery) at 14 - 14.7 Volts.

My alternator currently pushes 90amps, it's an OEM alternator for my 5A-FE engine (AE 110 corolla)

My audio is small:
* one 2000w max Boss Chaos C1000
* four Kicker 6"x9"
* one Audiopipe TS-M12 in a ported box
* one 1 Farad capacitor

I would appreciate if anyone could suggest a solution and where i can get it done/to buy.

Blessinz...........

when the battery was working it would charge at 13.5 - 13.8 Volts (without major load).

My Odyssey is about 3.5 yrs. old and it recently died (reading 10.7 Volts). I put it on a trickle charger about 2 weeks ago, but it drained again.........

Any suggestions for an alternator upgrade that won't rape my wallet?

P.S. if the alternator charges higher than 14.8 Volts, the warranty for the battery i wanna is void (not cool........)

Appreciate the input..........

Your battery has an infinite source of power, it dont go dead, just recharge and it will last a lifetime....sigh.

Trickle charge not going to charge a dead battery. If the battery dead, it dead, it has a life cycle.

Nothing is wrong with your alternator, just get a new battery.

That 14.7v is when the alternator cold, when it heats up the voltage drops as resistance rises due to heat. you should have a healthy 14.4 - 14.6v afterwards.

you safe with that alternator and amp btw.

it was suggested that i buy an alternator from a 1G Toyota engine and wire an external regulator to bump the voltage up to the required 14 - 14.7 Volts (so i don't void the Odyssey warranty).........

any thoughts????

Much appreciated..........

Did you do the big 3 upgrade on your car? I'd strongly recommend you do that 1st and monitor the system voltage with an accurate meter after.

If you are getting around 14.5V with the car cold and ~14.0V with the car hot, then you will be safe with that. If it still rests at 13.5 - 13.8V, then the other alt with the adjustable regulator would work fine..

a good battery and a big 3 upgrade and possible service of your existing alt depending on the age of the vehicle
