The Competitor Rules and Application forms can be found below. All completed application forms can be delivered to Streetwise Sounds in Gasparillo or Couva along with the entry fees.

Probably missed it while reading quickly, but the rules don't specify that you have to use Meguiar's products for the detailing section. Only says you can't advertise other products. Is that right?

Car can be prepared using other products. The winning car will be given a final detail by Meguiar's Specialists in the US before the show.

Oh. Thought it was a detailer's competition also in Vegas. Well that ain't no good if they're going to do all the cars the same.
I suppose customized or special vehicles would be better suited to this competition.

It actually sounds like Meguiar's will be giving the car a final detail before heading to the show which sounds great! A big plus for the winning car before being on a global showcase to make our country proud!

if u mean the yellow one, that car has a lot of work still to be done, parts to order etc
in any event, it does not have a 'show quality' paintjob
Heck none of my cars reflect the trailer-queen criteria being used to judge here
they all see track use and are all works in progress...willing to bet none of the final 12 will be as rare as my silver one but I guess I represent a different kind of car-crazy :p

Nope, wasn't me MG. Its not about the shine, its about the automobile itself, the history of the car, the countless stories attached to it and the memories the owner has with this vehicle. Its not just about shine and stance, its about the passion for cars.

^^^read the judging criteria

TnT’s BEST JUDGING & POINTS SYSTEM
All points will be determined at our
competitor vehicles will be based on a weighted

Best Paint Job
Best Customized Vehicle
Best Detailed Vehicle
Text Vote
Social Media Vote

so if, for example, your car is stock, then I'm guessing zero points for 'customized'............or if your car is 50 years old and still wears the factory paint (and I've seena few cars like this), then not much points for 'paint job' because it won't be shiny and lustrous under 6 coats of clear......best chance for a winner will be a drop low wingroad with neons, crims, 37 DVD screens, strobes and lambo doors

I am curious to see who will win too. Originally I thought the event would have been about rare cars or well detailed vehicles, good restorations, or just any exceptionally well kept vehicle that stands out. But I feel there may be a lot of entrants of the same group that enter the gallery competitions at many local car shows.
I feel I'll be going to see what sort of vehicles show up though. Should at least catch a few really good ones.

The event is open to all classes of vehicles. We don't want to show bias to any specific group or type of cars. We also look forward to seeing the rare cars, well detailed vehicles, good restorations or any exceptionally well kept vehicle enter.

As you are well aware, Meguiar's is all about paint care, therefore the points system is weighted towards paint job. That being said, this category focuses on the quality of the paint job. If someone has an older car with a defect free paint job they stand just as good a chance as the guys with the latest in paint technologies. Customized doesn't mean neons etc etc etc. Customized can be anything from Rims & Tires all the way through a Clean Engine Bay with attention to detail.

We are definitely looking forward to seeing the well kept classics that abound in Trinidad coming out to compete.

Any one that has watched Car Crazy Central with Barry Meguiar knows that its all about the "Car Hobby". The questions he asks all pertain to the car, the stories and the memories that show the in depth passion of the Car Guy. That being said, as Meguiar's is about paint care, the car needs to be in good condition. You wont see an old car falling apart with rust spots and a destroyed interior being featured on Car Crazy Central on Speed right.

The winning Car and owner will be aired on Car Crazy Central and the owner will be interviewed by Barry Meguiar. He has already sent us the list of questions that will be asked in order for the winner be prepared to answer. They all pertain to the specs of the Car, the history and memories of working on the car.

We look forward to seeing the Anglia 105E compete as from the looks of the pictures she is in very good shape.

^^^nah that anglia not in good shape at all........that thing is in EXCEPTIONAL shape.........I had to stop myself from licking it when I saw it up close.......

why no category points for rarity, preservation etc?
Not to mention history.......as you said, Barry Meg loves to know the stories behind the cars he features........nothing listed here links back to how car crazy the car owner is.......yeah I still debating bringin the rare silver car, but I am very cautious about car shows in general and how judging is done...
