Sealing windscreen / windscreen leak

Postby nervewrecker » May 8th, 2012, 10:35 am

Whats the normal process / price for someone to come at home and fix this problem. There is a leak in the windsceen where rain falls water comes into the car.
If you press against from inside the top near the mirror raises off. Can some silicone help stop this although the windscreen seems to not be properly attached to the car?

Is $500.00 a good price to pay for them to come at home an do the job and $75.00 extra for a reciept with no gurantee on the job? This is a place in marabella contacted to do the job and they say they hav to remove the whole glass and put it back in.

I dont know what the price is like to do such a job, if one gets gurantee on the job and what is the procedure. can anyone enlighten me?

thanks.

I think I paid $700 for a new windscreen installed from Double Zee...might be a feasible option for that price.

Thats windscreen and installation or just installation alone? This price does not include the windscreen, its just taking out the windscreen and repalcing it sealed up properly.
You got any gurantee on the job btw?

$700 for everything, it had a guarantee too. Call them and find out for the mera.
$500 for just a seal sounds high.

Chick said she dont know the name of the place but they on their way already to do the job.

They said no gurantee that it wont break / crack dring the un-instalation and re-installation.

Mods can do what they see fit with this thread now.

Not sure if it's the same place, but I had someone from a company in Marabella replace my Cefiro windscreen and they were very unprofessional left the car very dirty.

I recommend you stick with Double Zee, never had a problem with them.

I hope these people do good job yes, I find the 'pay extra for a reciept' kinda funny first to begin with.
If I get the time I will take a pic later. Somehow I suspect that car is a crash car that fixed up and sold to an unsuspecting female buyer.
